Parry Glasspool
edit... that Parry Glasspool, in character as Hollyoaks' Harry Thompson, had a cast member's error of calling him Parry air?
Created by Launchballer (talk). Self-nominated at 20:23, 23 January 2016 (UTC).
- It's long enough, new enough and QPQ is done, and no copyvio detected. The article itself looks fine to me and meets the criteria, but the hook doesn't really make sense. Do you have an alternate? White Arabian Filly (Neigh) 00:13, 12 February 2016 (UTC)
- @White Arabian Filly: please state whether you have assessed all the criteria listed at Wikipedia:Did you know, especially since I couldn't understand what the hook meant without reading the article. Jolly Ω Janner 07:30, 12 February 2016 (UTC)
- Jolly Janner, I think I have now addressed all the criteria; the article itself passes. The confusing aspect of the hook is also addressed. Personally, I think it'd be better if they changed it. I'm sort of tired of all the pop culture stuff on DYK, especially because I seldom watch TV beyond the nightly news. White Arabian Filly (Neigh) 16:46, 12 February 2016 (UTC)
- White Arabian Filly, it doesn't work to go back and change an original icon to something else when that icon has already been superseded (as it was by Jolly Janner's red arrow). I've added an icon here and struck the hook as too confusing: my guess was that "Parry air" was a bad pun referencing Perrier, which is wrong. Launchballer, if you want to get at the fact that the character "Harry" was called by the actor's name "Parry" in a scene and the goof was broadcast, there must be a better way of wording it than that. - Air in this instance can be read as 'broadcast'.
- ALT1:
... that a cast member of Hollyoaks called Parry Glasspool Parry on the set rather than Harry (Thompson) in an error that was broadcast?--Launchballer 08:30, 13 February 2016 (UTC)- This hook works fine. It passes now. The article itself meets all the criteria: long enough, no copyvio found, QPQ done and was new enough when nominated. White Arabian Filly (Neigh) 16:22, 13 February 2016 (UTC)
- ALT2: ... that in a broadcast episode of Hollyoaks, Harry Thompson, portrayed by actor Parry Glasspool, was erroneously called "Parry" by another character?
- I'm not sure "by another character" is strictly necessary, but I'll defer to Jolly Janner on that. I did strike ALT1. BlueMoonset (talk) 01:03, 14 February 2016 (UTC)
