Peniel Chapel
edit... that the 1810 Welsh Peniel Chapel is a classical Greek style replica of the 1630 St Paul's Chapel in London (compared)?

- Date and length fine. AGF on book source. QPQ done, no close para. Pic licence fine, though might be good if there was an imaged that showed both of them together for comparison. Good to go. The C of E God Save the Queen! (talk) 10:21, 8 April 2016 (UTC)
- Thanks for great idea for a comparison image = submitted!-Doug Coldwell (talk) 12:18, 8 April 2016 (UTC)
- Comment to Promoter - would be nice if this were #1 in the queue. Thanks.--Doug Coldwell (talk) 12:25, 8 April 2016 (UTC)
- It isn't a "replica" at all, though it is fairly similar.
- Neither are "classical Greek style" (ie Greek Revival architecture). St Paul's is specifically an attempt by Inigo Jones to follow very closely the description of an Etruscan-style temple given by Vitruvius! Greek temples look very different.
- St Paul's, Covent Garden is never called "St Paul's Chapel".
- It isn't "1630" - commissioned 1631, finished 1633.

- Um, don't you mean it started a trend, or changed the practice? A chapel didn't change the interior of other churches, like it has a magic wand or something. EEng 07:10, 10 April 2016 (UTC)
- Yes, of course - that is what I meant. Thanks! @The C of E: Proposing ALT6 or ALT7 for approval. Source for hook is Reference #2 of the Welsh Religious Buildings Trust Newsletter #4. Also Jones (pp. 32-33). Also Sell (p. 181) --Doug Coldwell (talk) 10:01, 10 April 2016 (UTC)
- ALT6 ... that Peniel Chapel (pictured) changed the practice of the traditional interior of a Welsh church to that of a theatre building with a ramped gallery floor for an auditorium experience? --Doug Coldwell (talk) 10:01, 10 April 2016 (UTC)
- ALT7 ... that Peniel Chapel (pictured) started the practice of the interior of a Welsh church to resemble that of the interior of a theater building for an auditorium experience for the congregation? --Doug Coldwell (talk) 11:44, 10 April 2016 (UTC)

- I'm going with Alt6 as that seem more grammatically correct and I have corrected the spelling. The C of E God Save the Queen! (talk) 13:10, 12 April 2016 (UTC)
