Poole Methodist Church

  • Length just over the minimum; date ok. QPQ completed. Referencing broadly adequate, though the reliability of local newspapers and council tourist guides for architectural information isn't 100%. No paraphrasing problems highlighted by Earwig. Hook is concise and interesting, at least if one knows what the Carbuncle Cup is or is intrigued enough to click. It is supported by reliable references. An alternative might include a quotation from the Guardian (not currently in the article) that it resembles "a pile of site Portakabins they forgot to remove."[4] More critique here: [5] My main problem with this is that the church does not appear to be listed and, aside from the Carbuncle nomination, it is unclear how it is notable. This has led to the great majority of the article being about the recent extension, with rather little about the church's architecture or history as a church. This not only gives an unbalanced feel but also makes the article's neutrality appear questionable. Espresso Addict (talk) 13:50, 19 September 2016 (UTC)
  • Added a little to the history section, and the Guardian quote. Not much of the history is online, would need offline sources, which is going to be a challenge to get. Joseph2302 20:34, 19 September 2016 (UTC)
  • Thanks for the ping, I think the article has been improved enough to meet the DYK criteria. Espresso Addict (talk) 07:05, 18 October 2016 (UTC)
