Robert Martensen

edit
  • ... that as his 86 year old father was nearing death, physician Robert Martensen told him he loved him and that he was going to remove his oxygen, and his father said "thank you"?
  • Comment: This will be my 4th DYK if approved

Seems to hit all the marks (long enough and new enough, no close paraphrasing) and could be used as is. However, I would like to see some improvements in the citations ({{cite book}} could be used for Martensen's book, and the page number of the relevant quote should be given as well as the publisher, year and location of publication, accessdate, and so forth). And we should consider whether all of that long quotation is really necessary, especially given that it's copyrighted, and whether it needs to be in a box ({{quote}} handles that blockquoting well enough). The cite book template is used. However, I couldn't tell whether the google book url link gives the paperback, hardcopy or some sort of digital book copy. The eight-sentence quote on ventilators, his dying father and end-of-life care comes from the Fresh Air audio interview (in case you thought it came from the book). • Hook is awfully long, and notability does not seem to have been shown for the subject. Crisco 1492 (talk) 03:23, 25 October 2011 (UTC)
  • I explained on the talk page the subject meets WP:CREATIVE #3 with the book and it appears a Guggenheim Fellowship would help (or seal the deal) as well. How's this:
  • ALT1. ... that after Robert Martensen, a physician, told his dying father he would remove his oxygen, his father said "thank you"? Jesanj (talk) 05:21, 25 October 2011 (UTC)
Perhaps ALT2. ... that physician Robert Martensen was thanked after telling his dying father he would remove his oxygen? Regarding notability, actually having an article on the book would help. Crisco 1492 (talk) 05:56, 25 October 2011 (UTC)
  • What's going on with the hook? Crisco 1492 (talk) 23:13, 26 October 2011 (UTC)
  • I like ALT2, if that's what you mean. Jesanj (talk) 23:52, 26 October 2011 (UTC)
  • ALT2 is good to go. Referencing looks good, rest is AGF based on previous review. Crisco 1492 (talk) 00:34, 27 October 2011 (UTC)
