First off, how the heck could this article ever be a DYK?!?!

It will take a while to properly look through even a sampling of the article, but a suggestion (also for the GAN) would be a copyedit, as I found some things even in the lead to improve Chris857 (talk) 03:30, 23 March 2013 (UTC)

You're right. I've de-GAN'ed it for now and instead nominated it at the Guild of Copy Editors. It seemed an easy expansion initially because First Contact was 60,000+ characters. But frankly, if I hadn't stumbled across the Michael Piller book online then this would have been stuck around the 30,000 mark. I wouldn't expect to see any other ST films here soon - Nemesis and Generations are both already above 12,000 characters and so it would be difficult to get them to reach a 5x expansion point without some serious padding. It's been well over two weeks without any further action. Is this article still awaiting the abovementioned copyedit? How soon will it be ready for a final DYK review, or is it ready now? BlueMoonset (talk) 04:22, 10 April 2013 (UTC)

Its going to be a while until the Guild get around to it as there is a bit of a backlog right now. However, I have just given the article a copyedit from head to toe, so it should hopefully be in good enough shape now for DYK. Miyagawa (talk) 09:37, 10 April 2013 (UTC)

This impressive article is a fivefold expansion of the version immediately before the expansion. It is new enough and does not lack for length! The English is perfectly satisfactory for DYK. The image is suitably licensed and either hook is referenced to a reliable source, but I prefer the original, no image, hook. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 05:45, 11 April 2013 (UTC)
