- ALT1 ... that completion of the Submarine Telegraph Company's first oceanic telegraph cable was delayed because the crew of the ship sent to lay the last piece did not know where Sangatte was?
- Hi Spinningspark, review follows: article created 15 January (one previous deleted revision from 2013 with no content); article is of good length and well written; article is cited inline to reliable sources throughout; I didn't find any copyright violations or overly close paraphrasing of the sources; hook is interesting, cited in the article and backed up by the source; I amended the hook slightly to add "the crew of", it is perhaps a little ungainly but otherwise the we would be talking about the ship itself knowing the location of Sangatte; QPQ has been started - Dumelow (talk) 08:11, 16 January 2019 (UTC)
- ALT2 ... that completion of the Submarine Telegraph Company's first oceanic telegraph cable was delayed because no one on board the ship sent to lay the last piece knew where Sangatte was?
- I forgot to put this in the article earlier, it would also make a great hook,
- ALT3 ... that opening of the Submarine Telegraph Company's first oceanic telegraph cable was marked by remotely firing a cannon in Calais from a telegraph station in Dover? Source: Smith, p. 18 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Spinningspark (talk • contribs) 19:12, 16 January 2019 (UTC)
- paging Dumelow to take a look at ALT3, since it isn't eligible until it's reviewed. Thanks. BlueMoonset (talk) 18:05, 10 February 2019 (UTC)
