The Entry

edit

Created by John Vandenberg (talk). Nominated by Gamaliel (talk) at 01:30, 19 December 2013 (UTC).

  • Am I just missing something? I'm not sure the article is all that clear that Washington was being called an ass. It repeatedly refers to Washington riding a donkey (ass) and being led by Col. David Humphreys with the verse, The glorious time has come to pass when David shall conduct an ass. But I don't see anything that says the cartoon specifically called Washington an ass, or that it was perceived that way by the populace at the time. Also, there are four bare URLs in the reference section. — Maile (talk) 21:53, 21 December 2013 (UTC)
  • Gamaliel has still not responded here despite a couple of talk-page pings, and while the bare URLs were reduced in number on December 23 they have not been eradicated, which is a clear DYK problem. Action is needed: I'll give a few more days for a response to the issues raised. If there is none, then this will have to be closed. BlueMoonset (talk) 17:11, 12 January 2014 (UTC)
I've fixed the final bare URL but four weeks without a response is unacceptable. It's a shame - the article is long enough, new enough, copyvioless and no QPQ is necessary - and I really don't want to have to waste it. I'm going to give it until bang on one month after Maile66's comment and then I'm closing it.--Launchballer 17:27, 17 January 2014 (UTC)
  • Closing now. I see no reason to wait further; it's been five days since I offered a few more days, and Gamliel has been editing on Wikipedia in the interim but has not addressed any issue. BlueMoonset (talk) 20:13, 17 January 2014 (UTC)
