Twin Suns
- ... that the much anticipated final duel between Obi-Wan Kenobi and Darth Maul, shown in the Star Wars Rebels episode "Twin Suns", lasts for less than three seconds? Sources: "He ultimately does away with Maul in a single blow after blocking two strikes. It’s over in less than three seconds." (Comicbook.com)
"mileage will vary on a much-hyped and anticipated lightsaber fight that was one of the quickest ever" (IGN)
- ALT1: ... that for the Star Wars Rebels episode "Twin Suns", director Dave Filoni was inspired by the 1954 Akira Kurosawa film Seven Samurai? Source: "Filoni said the inspiration for the fight was Kyuzo, the master swordsman in Akira Kurosawa’s Seven Samurai" (io9)
- Comment: My second DYK nomination. Proposing ALT1 also, because the main blurb features an interesting twist, but a spoiler for the episode.

- Ah a Star Wars write up. I haven't yet watched the episode myself, but let me review this. I would prefer to go with ALT 1 rather than the main blurb, as what you said, it's kind of a spoiler, plus it isn't actually that interesting for those uninterested in Star Wars. The article isn't that new, but I will overlook it since it is still technically newly created (within a month or so), plus this is just your second DYK.
- I will suggest rewording the ALT1 a little, smth like:
- ALT1a ... that the Star Wars Rebels episode "Twin Suns" took inspiration from the 1954 Akira Kurosawa film Seven Samurai? or
- ALT1b ... that the Star Wars Rebels episode "Twin Suns" is inspired by the 1954 Akira Kurosawa film Seven Samurai?
- Feel free to share your thoughts.--ZKang123 (talk) 05:21, 24 May 2021 (UTC)
- Hi ZKang123, thanks for reviewing my submission. I only moved this to the mainspace a couple days ago, so it should qualify for DYK. Alt1a sounds less convoluted than what I have, so I'd agree with using that one. Perhaps to make it even more interesting though, we could add that George Lucas was also inspired by Seven Samurai:
- ALT1c ... that the Star Wars Rebels episode "Twin Suns" took inspiration from the 1954 Akira Kurosawa film Seven Samurai, a film which George Lucas also cited as a major influence? Source: "Seven Samurai made an extraordinary impact on me," says Lucas, recalling the first time he saw the epic during his tenure at USC's film school." (IGN) ?
- Just a suggestion though, as this may be getting too long. Yeeno (talk) 🍁 08:30, 24 May 2021 (UTC)
