Usage

edit
  • For use on the user talk pages of editors of stubs who have not been following the standard procedure as outlined at WP:STUB.
  • Use {{uw-directcat}} if the user has been regularly adding stub categories manually to stub articles (that is, typing in the name of the category, rather than adding a relevant stub template). In general, it is not worth adding this message if the editor has only done this on one occasion, but is worthwhile if they appear to be regularly editing stub articles in this way.
  • Create a second-level header with a short, relevant title (e.g., "Stub categories"), subst the uw-directcat template, then sign using four tildes:

==Stub categories==

{{subst:uw-directcat}} ~~~~

  • This template uses a parser function. To give greater detail to your message, you may add the article and some additional text to the end of the template. The name of a specific article can be added to the template, thus:

{{subst:uw-directcat|Article}} ~~~~

This will link the article in the text left at the user's page.
