Zombies in Spain?

edit

The number of total cumulative deaths has decreased on May 24th by a lot. Did some fatalities arise and being walking the streets? Are these the new American absentee voters intending to vote for Biden? Seriously though, would someone please correct or explain? You'd think such a development would warrant an explanation. Skeptical Realist (talk) 16:55, 26 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

There is a footnote explaining just that: Figures for 2020-05-24 and 2020-05-25 include corrections in the validation of past data from several autonomous communities as a result of the transition to a new surveillance methodology implemented from 2020-05-11.
Had you paid more attention to the chart instead of coming to this talk page right away to mock the data in the template and by pretending to be funny, you could have noticed it. Wikipedia is not a place for chit chatting, and I'm sure there are kinder and nicer ways to ask for things. Cheers. Impru20talk 17:11, 26 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

Why the jumping numbers?

edit

I hoped to find a reliable table of cases, but I see that people change the numbers regardless of what the cited sources say. Ministerio de Sanidad says 4209 cases for 13/3, WHO says 2965. but someone had to write 5232 cases, probably based on John Hopkins university. Please can someone clarify? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gwilbor (talkcontribs) 14:38, 14 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

I just updated the numbers to match the more official ones in the table below. Missing data was filled from the other linked sources. One strange thing is the bars do not seem to be linearly related to the numbers. Note the growth from 3/15 to 3/16 vs 3/16 to 3/17. The bar grows equally but the numbers grow by 50% more. I'm Not sure how to deal with this. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 73.41.64.30 (talk) 19:06, 18 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

In the table code, the third column contained active cases, but it should contain total cases because the template already calculates the difference to draw the red bar. I just fixed it. Heitordp (talk) 19:25, 19 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

The talk about the numbers on this page is being held on the main article's talk page. -- Bendiwiof (talk) 7:41, 20 March 2020 (UTC)

WikiProject COVID-19

edit

I've created WikiProject COVID-19 as a temporary or permanent WikiProject and invite editors to use this space for discussing ways to improve coverage of the ongoing 2019–20 coronavirus pandemic. Please bring your ideas to the project/talk page. Stay safe, --Another Believer (Talk) 18:17, 15 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

Computing the change with respect to the previous day requires to use data from daily reports

edit

I suggest the data from this chart should be the same one from the daily reports which are copy-pasted here: Template:2019–20_coronavirus_pandemic_data/Spain_medical_cases. This is because the chart includes percentage of changes day-over-day, which requires to have numbers obtained at the same time during the day, that is 21:00 in the current reports. -- ChaTo (talk) 13:29, 27 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

No, this is not true. It has been already explained in the other talk page and there is no need to keep duplicating discussions. Impru20talk 13:39, 27 March 2020 (UTC)Reply
This is the discussion Impru20 refers to: Talk:2020_coronavirus_pandemic_in_Spain#Graphics_on_Stadistics..._again. Continuing there. -- ChaTo (talk) 13:53, 27 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

Minsterio de Sanidad

edit

Wikipedia must show the official name of the Ministry: Ministerio de Sanidad, and not its translation. If Wikipedia respects the French name in France's template, it must show to Spain the same respect.--81.202.238.193 (talk) 20:07, 21 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

Use of English in the English wikipedia is not a disrespect, for fairly obvious reasons. The official name of the ministry in English is "Ministry of Health". That other stuff may exist elsewhere in Wikipedia does not mean it is correctly used there nor that we have some kind of obligation or requirement to replicate that here, either. Impru20talk 20:09, 21 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
This is your opinion, not Wikipedia's consensus.--81.202.238.193 (talk) 20:11, 21 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
You have shown no consensus for your changes in this template. So it's "your opinion" what you are intending to force into here. Seek consensus for your changes, as you currently don't have one. Impru20talk 20:12, 21 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
Nor do you. Why is your opinion a consensus and not mine? YOU are pretending to have consensus on your side. SHOW IT!--81.202.238.193 (talk) 20:15, 21 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
(edit conflict) Looks like you have changed the French template into English yourself before attempting to move this into Spanish. You are not even being consistent with your own changes, and I don't know if this is some kind of WP:POINT you are attempting to make here. Considering past editing history and talk page warnings I'll have to consider this as blatant disruption.
Nor do you. Yes, there is a consensus for the current version of the template to stand. It's called WP:IMPLICITCONSENSUS, since the current version has been in place for a lot of time without dispute as well as seeing a lot of intermediate edits by a plurality of users without change. You are attempting to force your own version into the template, yet your new edits are the ones being disputed, so it's your version the one that needs to get a new consensus for it to be of application. Read and get familiar with the actual Wikipedia policy on WP:CONSENSUS. Impru20talk 20:17, 21 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

Percent change when only 1 death

edit

Hi. I don't think the percent change should be "=" when there are deaths being added to the total. It should instead be replaced by "<+0.01%" (like in the COVID-19 in Mainland China chart) and the equal sign should be reserved only for when there are zero deaths from one day to the next. Thoughts? --Spaastm (talk) 14:20, 8 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

This was explained at Talk:COVID-19 pandemic in Spain#Rounding of small percentage change in infobox. The calculation is automatically done by the template itself, so that when it gives a number very close to 0% it shows "=" rather than 0.00x%-whatever. Impru20talk 15:07, 8 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

May 22 is missing!

Percentage or absolute option for new infections?

edit

I started a discussion on that topic here Project COVID-19, Medical cases charts - change type. My personal opinion is that absolute change display suits much better in an epidemic's second wave. But also the status quo ante (percentage) should be kept here until some agreement is reached (locally or possibly a consensus in linked discussion). -- Kohraa Mondel (talk) 15:27, 3 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Adding data from 1/4 onward using info from cnecovid.isciii.es

edit

Information does not appear to have been updated for months. Adding daily figures from 1/4/2021 onward using charts supplied at: https://cnecovid.isciii.es/covid19/resources/casos_tecnica_ccaa.csv and https://cnecovid.isciii.es/covid19/resources/casos_hosp_uci_def_sexo_edad_provres.csv Within those charts, used the "num_casos" field summarized over all variables and the "num_def" field summarized over all variables.Araesmojo (talk) 18:43, 18 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

Added further update to 2021-08-26 using same methodology as discussed above. Note, data does appear to getting updated on the Spanish Wikipedia. Araesmojo (talk) 17:45, 29 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
