Wikipedia talk:Huggle/Feedback
We have an IRC channel #huggle connect where you can get help in real time. The channel is semi-active though, if you don't get an answer right away, please wait a few minutes. |
To centralize discussion, all Huggle talk pages redirect here. If you are here to discuss Huggle, report problems or request features, please do so on this page. We also have a mailing list at hugglelists.wikimedia.org. |

Requested move 16 June 2022
edit- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.
The result of the move request was: page moved. (closed by non-admin page mover) GeoffreyT2000 (talk) 04:18, 24 June 2022 (UTC)
Wikipedia:Huggle/Feedback → Wikipedia talk:Huggle/Feedback – A lot of templates do not work under the Wikipedia namespace, including {{requested move}} and {{Edit template-protected}} (See [1]). Wikipedia talk seems a more appropriate place. 0xDeadbeef 10:10, 16 June 2022 (UTC)
- Support since all of the talk pages of Huggle warnings redirect here, it's impossible to make an edit request without waiting forever. I made one 10 days ago and it hasn't been addressed. interstatefive 20:49, 16 June 2022 (UTC)
Notification error
editSometimes, when I tag a page with speedy deletion, Huggle notifies the incorrect user.[2][3]. Ae245 (talk) 09:25, 30 June 2024 (UTC)

Automatically added to list of users – an unapproved automated edit
editI'm not a fan of the fact that users are automatically added to Wikipedia:Huggle/Users. Apparently, every time you sign in with the tool it will re-add you to the list, even if you've removed yourself. I don't agree with the premise that logging in should cause the tool to automatically make an edit that I did not intend for it to. Please provide opt out functionality or turn this off. - @Hey man im josh: I do not know enough about how this works, but perhaps you could try putting:
userlistsync: false
- in to your own Special:MyPage/huggle.yaml.js ? — xaosflux Talk 13:38, 22 July 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks for the suggestion @Xaosflux. I may have placed it at the wrong spot in the file for all I know, but I gave it a shot and I was still re-added. Hey man im josh (talk) 13:57, 22 July 2024 (UTC)
- Sorry, you'll have to wait for one of the developers to comment. You could also try to open a feature request (perhaps allowing override in the user yaml file). — xaosflux Talk 14:25, 22 July 2024 (UTC)

- I recognize I'm more annoyed than I probably should be, but this has honestly stopped me from using Huggle for AV. I'm just not okay with the program making unapproved edits which I'm not being prompting for in any way. It also serves absolutely no purpose to add people to this list except to possibly promote that a number of people use it?
- I'm shocked this has been done automatically for so long. Hey man im josh (talk) 14:23, 25 July 2024 (UTC)
- Someone brought this up on an unrelated Phabicrator ticket, which Petrb replied to here. @Petrb: I'm not sure if you actually looked at the link that Yoshi shared, but this IS the talk page for Huggle. I see no reason why folks would object to stopping Huggle from making unapproved edits that cannot be stopped or opted out of. Hey man im josh (talk) 19:50, 25 July 2024 (UTC)
- Following up on this to see if there's any intention to address this... Otherwise I think an explanation that this edit will happen, and perhaps the purpose for it, should be added to Wikipedia:Huggle. I've wanted to use the tool, but I'm fundamentally opposed to the unapproved edits that cannot be stopped. I'm frustrated by the situation, especially considering @Petrb responded on Phab to someone and said to bring this up at the talk page, which I've obviously done. The "Whitelist" link is broken.
editI can't access the whitelist link on either meta or en wikipedia. On meta, it navigates to a 404 page for Apache, and on the en wikipedia page, it returns "This web service cannot be reached. Please contact a maintainer of this project." Thanks, Lordseriouspig 07:21, 4 August 2024 (UTC)

Some old Huggle templates nominated for deletion
editI'm pretty sure that these templates have been unused for a long time. If not, please comment in the TFD and explain how they are used. If they are used, they need to be documented correctly.
Template:Huggle/speedy-club has been nominated for deletion. You are invited to comment on the discussion at the entry on the Templates for discussion page. – Jonesey95 (talk) 19:48, 13 October 2024 (UTC)
