Removal of club appearances and goals

edit

I'm going to remove the A (G)* column from the Clubs section. This will give more space to the club names and years. I've checked all the pages that include this template and only five have this field with value. Removing the caps(goals) parameter will not affect the display of this pages.

If anyone opposes please reply with your reasons and we will find a solution. --Aikurn (talk) 14:36, 20 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Alternative syntax

edit

I have added alternative numbered years/clubs parameters similar to what we have in template:infobox football biography. this will help improve accessibility by aligning the data for screen readers (which can be seen if you try to cut-and-paste the contents of the infobox). assuming there are no problems, I will eventually start migrating the articles to the new syntax. I have already found one article using the new syntax prior to the conversion (someone probably thinking that it worked the same way as the football box). Template-protected edit request on 23 July 2018

edit

There is a problem with the template when you add an other module in to the handball infobox. For example the Template:Infobox basketball biography by Jence Ann Rhoads and Matthew Ryan (handballer).

This is because the Handball infobox has the Template:Infobox3cols and the basketball the normal Template:infobox.

Additionally can somebody add a weight parameter to it?

Thank you very much for your efforts. Malo95 (talk) 18:12, 23 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

I have fixed the module embedding, but the weight parameter may be controversial (see template:infobox football biography, Template:Infobox tennis biography, and others). Frietjes (talk) 22:14, 23 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

National representatives

edit

The documentation says this template is only for use with professional players, not amateurs "no matter their profile." Why is that, and is it permissible to use it for players who represent their countries in international competition? The alternative is to use the Template:Infobox sportsperson, which seems less helpful unless the player has medaled (it provides for listing medals but not number of appearances). Jack N.
