I like this template, but I find the name misleading. How about "Template: Main Page toolbox" instead ? -- PFHLai 14:09, 18 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Change the link to WP:ERRORS to Talk:Main page. ffm yes? 13:09, 21 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Why is it protected anyway? It is not actually on the main page. ffm yes? 16:38, 21 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
Y Done. You're welcome to request unprotection; I haven't looked into that at this time. – Luna Santin (talk) 22:25, 21 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Revert to previous target please (Wikipedia:Main Page/Errors) (to fix dbl-rdr, now that it's transcluded instead of redirected) Thanks --Quiddity 19:43, 23 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Scratch that (well ignored!) it works fine as is. --Quiddity 19:07, 25 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Might be worth bypassing the redirect from Main Page alternative (yesterday) to Wikipedia:Main Page alternative (yesterday) on this template, people will no doubt start trying to get these "cross-namespace redirects" deleted soon – Gurch 12:15, 4 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Can a link to the In the news discussion page be added like so? It is often overlooked. --candlewicke 21:31, 17 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

At time of writing there is unanimous support at Talk:Main Page for Today's featured list to start on 13 June. Assuming that there are no unforeseen hitches between now and the end of the proposal on Saturday, would it be possible to add TFL to this template on Sunday?

Thanks in advance, —WFC10:36, 7 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Yes, it will be added when TFL goes live on the Main Page, but not before then. Cheers. Zzyzx11 (talk) 02:51, 8 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Speaking of which, since the TFL will only be shown on Mondays for the time being, I'm going to have to add some complex coding for that row, like this mock up for now. Cheers. Zzyzx11 (talk) 06:20, 8 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Of course, the question then becomes what to display from Wednesday to Saturday: Hide that TRL row completely, or have a generic link to WP:TFL and/or WP:TFLS? Zzyzx11 (talk) 06:28, 8 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Currently I have the TFL row below the POTD row. It looks better when the generic WP:TFL link is displayed from Tuesday thru Saturday. Otherwise it will look like this below. And the code will get messy if I try to do two #switch parser functions. Zzyzx11 (talk) 00:33, 12 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Multiple POTD versions

edit

The links to POTD, protected and "regular", don't work when there are multiple versions of the same page, such as Template:POTD protected/2018-10-09/1 and Template:POTD protected/2018-10-09/2. Multiple versions have been more frequent lately. The toolbox works if we can remember to add /1 to the title, make the edit, repeat for /2, and repeat for however many other versions may exist – but if we could remember things like that, we wouldn't need the toolbox (personally, I find multiple versions by Googling). I just fixed typos that had gone unfixed for over an hour, and I wonder if anyone else knows how to find multiple versions (further complicated by the "regular version" gotcha; nobody seems to understand that either). Apologies for the typos, I should have proofread the prose back again before leaving it to be published. As for the multiple images, there are quite a few FP sets towards the back of the FIFO queue for POTD. It makes sense to feature coins etc. as a set, but perhaps today's would have been better as just one or the other.  — Amakuru (talk) 05:27, 9 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
I must have missed it too - the picture was unfamiliar to me when I fixed it, but it was there to see for a few days. To fix the toolbox, I suppose there would need to be a separate link for each page that can appear, and a way to automatically update them. Art LaPella (talk) 06:01, 9 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

What Izno sees in pre-TStyles template

@MSGJ: I would guess you mean the borders here, but Firefox does not display clean borders with the pre-TStyles template. (This happens to be mobile browser in Timeless but desktop is the same; I experienced the same issue in Vector.)

I also see this post TStyles, so I guess whatever trick is being done then is actually enforcing browser expectations rather than browser defaults. :) --Izno (talk) 16:01, 8 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Or not, this appears to be a Timeless pain. wtf timeless. --Izno (talk) 16:06, 8 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
Okay, so it was addition of the fixed width plus the margin hacks I think? --Izno (talk) 16:09, 8 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
I don't understand half of what you've written above, but if necessary I can make a screenshot of what I saw on Chrome which was pretty ugly! — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 08:19, 9 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
