Artefacts

edit

Doens't all these fake artifacts detract from this template? It gives the impression that the Norse exploration of America is just a big hoax or a joke, which is sad. I'd rather have no artifacts than a whole bunch of fake ones. --OpenFuture (talk) 16:59, 14 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

I see your point. The Maine Penny should be retained, as should the Skálholt Map. Not so sure about the value of listing all the fraudulent artifacts, although certain items, such as the Kensington Runestone and the Vinland Map, have a kind of notability or relevance to the topic simply because of their fame (infamy?). I'll have a look at each of the items included here and see if any are extremely obvious candidates for removal. By the way, you might want to take a glance at the Great Ireland article, it seems like it could use the attention of more editors. Regards, ClovisPt (talk) 17:13, 14 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
Editors might also want to think about whether Norumbega really belongs here. ClovisPt (talk) 18:45, 14 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Replacement

edit

Hi. I've replaced this template with https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:Norse_colonization_of_North_America . How would I go about slating this page for deletion? Colin dm (talk) 02:18, 13 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
