Slightly new template

edit

Hey. I've done a little redesign work on the template, and before I published it, I wanted to get opinions, in case some people don't like it:

Blake, William Blake, William Category:William Blake

As you can see, it's not a million miles from how it was. It's an excellent template with a huge amount of info. The main thing I did was remove the Paired Poem section from the Songs of group. It just didn't make any sense to me to have three groups of poem for two small books. And it wasn't of any informational value insofar as it didn't actually indicate which poems were paired with which. For example, "The Tyger" and "The Lamb" were both listed, but without clicking on one of them, you wouldn't know that, which seems to negate the usefulness for a seperate list. If the paired poem have their own list, shouldn't it indicate which poems are paired? The only negative thing to the new way is there's a couple of duplicate links, but I think it's clearer now as an at-a-glance guide than it was. I also reordered the prophetic books in chronological order. As far as I could tell, they were listed randomly, neither alphabetical nor chronological, so I went with chronological. Same with the Art section. I also removed Hela from the mythology section. She's a relatively minor character in a relatively minor poem which many critics don't even consider to be a 'proper' part of the Prophetic Books (Keynes for example), and her page is a single sentence long, so I don't think anything is being lost by her removal. Tiriel obviously should stay, as should Har, but I don't see the need for Hela to be listed. Finally, I added Kathleen Raine and Alicia Ostriker to the critics list as they've both done a lot of work on Blake, especially Raine. I also added S. Foster Damon's Dictionary. I know it's another red link, but it's at least as important a work as Fearful Symmetry and Prophet Against Empire So that's it. Any thoughts? If no one has any major objections I'll post it in a couple of days. If anyone does have any objections, I'm happy to chat about them. Bertaut (talk) 23:11, 22 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
