I am British and a part-time lecturer in history. I also have a PhD and a First Class Honours degree, both in history. My interests include films, history (various periods), politics and current affairs, and visiting historical sites and areas of scenic beauty. Most of my edits relate to these interests.
In particular, I am keen to give due recognition to achievements which have been omitted: for example, an actor who has a sizeable role in a film, but who has been left out of the film’s cast list on the Wikipedia page. So far I have done over 1400 edits. I have been a registered editor since 2013 (although I did a few edits before becoming registered!).
To date I have had over 20 pieces of work published, either as hard copy or online: as booklets, articles in journals (including the Oxford DNB) and magazines, part of a guide book, and a Gazetteer online (which was refereed by the trustees of the relevant organisation). This should hopefully help to stand me in good stead for my editing role on Wikipedia.
I also enjoy visiting other countries and have been to over 20 to date, including Switzerland, Austria, Andorra, Malta, Bulgaria, New Zealand, the USA, Canada, Laos, Burma, Thailand, India, Romania, Bulgaria, Spain and Italy.
