The first season of the Canadian animated comedy series Total Drama, titled Total Drama Island, began airing on Teletoon in Canada on July 8, 2007. Comprising 26 episodes, three specials, and 40 shorts, the series concluded it's run on November 29, 2008.

Plot

Total Drama Island introduces host Chris McLean, chef and occasional co-host Chef Hatchet, and twenty-two contestants to Camp Wawanaka, a rundown summer camp on an island in Muskoka, Ontario to compere in challenges for the chance to win C$100,000. Once on the island, the contestants are split into two teams, the Killer Bass and Screaming Gophers, and compete in challenges every three days, with the losing team voting someone out of the competition. Around halfway through the competition, the teams are merged with contestants instead fighting for individual immunity.
