Thalela[2] is a village and a notified area committee in Doda district in the State of Jammu and Kashmir.[3][4] Thalela village is located in the foothills of the Himalayan mountains, about 65 km from Batote.It is surrounded by ample forests, the village contains one small stream flowing through one side of the village .This suffices the water needs for the crops.The stream is a tributiry to the famous river Chenab.

Thalela is one of the villages in Thathri Tehsil in Doda district of the state of Jammu & Kashmir in India. It is the sixth populous village in tehsil Thathri. It is approximately 15 km far from its the district headquarters of Doda.

Thalela, is located in foothills of the Himalayan Mountains.People from the top of the mountain migrated to the lower parts and hence its origin.There were the, fields of paddy of nearby villages people. By and by people built their houses in place of fields and it became a village.
