AdventHealth Tampa is a non-profit hospital campus in Tampa, Florida, United States. It became part of the AdventHealth hospital network following a merger with University Community Health in September 2010.
History
editIn early July 1993, University Community Hospital agreed to purchase Centurion Hospital of Carrollwood from Centurion Health of Carrollwood for $17.4 million. The sale had to be approved by creditors and the United States bankruptcy court.[1] In early November, University Community Hospital officially took over the management of Centurion Hospital of Carrollwood and renamed it to University Community Hospital-Carrollwood.[2]
On September 1, 2000, University Community Hospital took over the management of Helen Ellis Memorial Hospital,[3] after getting approval from the city commission government of Tarpon Springs and from voters on a 40-year lease.[4][5]
On September 1, 2010, University Community Hospital became part of Adventist Health System. This happened after University Community Health merged with Adventist Health System.[6][7][8]
On January 2, 2019, Florida Hospital Tampa rebranded to AdventHealth Tampa.[9][10]
