The Alan and Sue Leighton School of Nursing (commonly known as the Leighton School of Nursing) is a nursing school located in Indianapolis, Indiana and affiliated with Marian University.
History
editThe Leighton School of Nursing was established in 1977 as the Marian College School of Nursing.[2] In 2017 it began offering a Doctor of Nursing Practice Degree, which included a Family Nurse Practitioner and Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist, the latter program then noted as the first of its kind in Indiana.[3][4]
The school occupies a portion of Marian University's Center for Health Sciences.[5]
Academics
editAs of 2017, the Leighton School of Nursing offers a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, a Master of Science in Nursing, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice.[6] The school's degree programs are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.[7] Its students had a National Council Licensure Examination pass rate of 92.5% in 2012 and 92.8% in 2015.[8]
