What happened

I was updating information for Sam Katz\'s webpage including decisions and actions made as Mayor. I spent a lot of time on this page because it really needed to be updated and I provided references for absolutley everything. And yet twice it was reverted without any thought or discussion. I am surprised at the senseless revision without any consideration for everything that was absolutely true.

In the last few days there has been an obvious attempt to influence a political contest by someone adding a tremendous amount of \"controversial\" material to this page. Deleting this biased info is simply defending against large-scale vandalism.

The phrase \"witches, bitches, and britches\" is in fact used in operatic circles. See, e.g., http://www.myoperas.com/habericerik.asp?id=31&baslik=Soprano,Mezzo-Soprano,Alto,Sopranist? (including quotation mark at end). I should have a) made this clear by adding a reference and b) censored the phrase to avoid offending readers and/or triggering filters.

Reason: redirecting article to non-existant page

What happened

When you type smackdown vs raw 2010, you get redirected to WWE SmackDown (video game series), when in fact it should have redirected to WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2010, I edited the redirect so that when people type smackdown vs raw 2010 they get the actual page and not the series, then I get a warning about it when I have done nothing wrong, I simply edited to make it more accessable to the people searching and I get a warning for my good contribution

Please fix this mistake as soon as possible as it is a good edit and should not get me a warning

I had added a link to show what exactly I changed

http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Smackdown_vs_raw_2010&diff=prev&oldid=294134707

and this is what it should have redirected to

Thank you for your time and I hope you can solve this problem as soon as possible

I radically reduced the content of a section of \'Career in the ATP\' in the article \'Roger Federer\'. Considering the article was criticized by the editorial team as containing too much \'intricate detail\' I think this is a step in the right direction. Cutting it down will also allow a better structure to be built up and less of a mass of lists and information better and already covered in \'Roger Federer career statistics\'.

There\'s no way to suppress writing about the TRUTH which occurred in the real history. What happened

There was no intention to \"advertise\" Phil Radford as ED of Greenpeace. It strikes me as rather silly to suggest it\'s an advertisement when it\'s just a bio. There were no donation appeals in the wikipedia entry, nor was the wikipedia entry used in any donation appeals made by Greenpeace. I do work for Greenpeace but our sole intention in editing the entry was to make sure that detractors don\'t put up malicious or false info about him. If the entry was in fact in violation of your rules then by all means edit the portions that were in violation. But otherwise, why delete the whole thing? The entry contained a summary of the professional life of a high-profile leader of the environmental movement. Certainly that\'s relevant to wikipedia. How is that advertising in any way, shape, or form?

What happened

The article \"neutral country\" is really about neutrality in war, and in international politics. Moreover, the original tilte uses the word country, but it should use sovereign state, or power (as in the Hague conventions), to convey the meaning intended. I decided to move it to a new page called \"neutrality (international relations)\", since it better reflects the articles content. However, ClueBot didn\'t like it.

One of the references included the line /*the Rape of Chichester*/ however historically the Anglo Saxons used a "rape" as a unit of measure. They used a length of "rope" to measure out land rather like they used "chains" in more recent times (80 chains = 1 mile). Hence the Rape of Chichester would be like saying the Parish of Chichester for example.

The anonymous user actually did a good thing. For this article (Fethullah Gülen) exists a long highly POV (propaganda of subject) version. There is consensus that this long version is unacceptable and that the current much shorter (about 30k shorter) version is to be preferred.

However, a single editor (Philscirel) regularly creates sockpuppets with as only goals to revert the page back to the long POV version (and using edit summaries with terms like page blanking and vandalism included, so difficult to see who is to blame for some inexperienced editos, let alone a bot from them as well).

In this case the anonymous editor 118. etc. removed the unsupported reinsertion of much highly POV texts, sourced by propaganda materials. (the latest sock, Nurefsan, has been reported as such)

I can imagine Cluebot noted this as massdelete, but the bot was definitely wrong here.

I am not sure whether you can finetune Cluebots heuristic for such special cases, which I admit are rather rare. If not, too bad, Cluebot is doing more good then bad. ClueBot Commons (talk) 12:27, 11 June 2009 (UTC)

I\'m not sure how to delete this page, but it needs to be deleted.

The page {{Gentoo}} was recently made to redirect to {{Gentoo_Linux}}, and the article {{Gentoo}} is now called {{Gentoo_Pengiun}}.

{{Gentoo_Linux}} has new a disambiguation message: \"Gentoo\" redirects here. For other uses, see Gentoo (disambiguation). It used to be: For other uses of the word Gentoo, see Gentoo (Disambiguation).

The old (latter) disambiguation message says {{Gentoo_(Disambiguation)}} while the newer one says {{Gentoo_(disambiguation)}}, the correct form.

When clicking on the new link, it redirects back to {{Gentoo}} - a loop is formed.

Upon visiting {{Gentoo_(Disambiguation)}} I found that it held the appropriate content and did not redirect, whereas {{Gentoo_(disambiguation)}} does not - it just looped back to {{Gentoo}}. I manually entered \"Gentoo_(disambiguation)\" in the URL for page editing and replaced the redirection command with the source from the \"Gentoo_(Disambiguation)\" article.

Since the problem was fixed, I wanted to delete the old \"Gentoo_(Disambiguation)\" page as it is no longer a requirement (the lowercase form was now present and working) - but wasn\'t sure how, so I just selected all the source on the {{Gentoo_(Disambiguation)}} article and backspaced.

This was apparently incorrect, and I apologise for making this mistake - I will seek further advice before attempting this type of deletion in the future if ever again required.

Article was reduced in size to address two issues: a lack of neutrality (which Wikipedia iteslf had reported), and it was unnecessarily long. Furthermore, a sentence was added to a paragraph to give important information regarding a village meeting in December 2008. Finally, several errors were corrected (e.g., \"Jeremy Dobson\" was changed to \"Jerome Dobson\"). The article now gives approximately equal weight to both \"sides\" of the supposed controversy it partly addresses.

What happened

I tried to refer one entry to another one with the proper name. The name is Northern Ontario railroad museum not railway.

The purported obscenity is a direct reference to the script of the show, and provides appropriate context.

ClueBot is apparently reverting changes to the template sandboxes then putting warnings on the user\'s pages, which is exactly what it shouldn\'t do. We already have SoxBot cleaning the sandboxes, and messages inviting users to play around testing them, which is what they\'re trying to do then being told off multiple times. ClueBot should ignore all of Template:X1, Template:X2, Template:X3, Template:X4, Template:X5, Template:X6, Template:X7, Template:X8, Template:X9, and Template:Template_sandbox.

You may not want to revert the latin phrase \"ecce homo\" as an obscenity.

This is to complete the picture of the company presenting the good as well as the bad. The website name added as a reference contains the word \"sucks\" which is common for opposition to corporate websites, e.g. Microsoftsucks.org; AppleSucks.org, ibmsucks.org etc.

This was added as extra reference not meant as vandalism.
