List of National Basketball Association retired jersey numbers
Reminder: since you chose to remove the "honored" Laker entries, you'll also want to remove the associated footnote in the List of National Basketball Association retired jersey numbers article (note 4) and then bump up the numbering of the later numbered notes (updating the reference numbering as needed elsewhere). — Myasuda (talk) 13:14, 29 October 2012 (UTC)
Use of N°
Thanks for transforming lists into tables such as your edit to San Diego Chargers. However, N° is not commonly used in the US for "number". Per MOS:POUND, I have changed it to "No." Please keep this is mind at least for other US-based article per MOS:ENGVAR.—Bagumba (talk) 16:52, 31 October 2012 (UTC)
- Thank you for the feedback, I did not really know how the abbreviated use for "number" was. I'll fix the other charts created before as soon as possible. Fma12 (talk) 17:54, 31 October 2012 (UTC)
Also, I'm not sure if you noticed my earlier reversion of your changes to San Diego Chargers retired numbers, with N° being one of the reasons. Among the other reasons were:
- Black and yellow are not the team colors
- Broken references
- Unsure what "tenure" refers to (i.e. league or team). It should be team; a key is usually standard for tables to explain headings.
- It is OK for table to duplicate info in prose, as a lot of readers may not even bother reading the text.
- It is pretty standard to highlight entries such as HOF players with color and with an asterisk or a dagger. See NFL featured lists such as Super Bowl Most Valuable Player Award.
—Bagumba (talk) 18:20, 31 October 2012 (UTC)
- Yes, I had noticed about your reverts.
- #When I say "tenure" I'm talking (at least in those cases) about the years spent with a specific team, not in the league. If there a standard way to refer to "tenure" please let me know.
- #I did not use black and yellow but the colors existing in infobox: #08214A (navy) and EEC607 (gold), both at the top of the template. Those were my references to create the table.
- #I'll take a look at featured list to learn more about it. Fma12 (talk) 18:29, 31 October 2012 (UTC)
- Color: My bad, I guess it renders darker on my monitor. "Tenure": IMO, "Career" is more standard in American sports statistics. In any event, it should be explicit whether it is for the team or the entire career. To avoid long headers in a table, a key is usually provided when additional details are needed for clarity. BTW, I will keep you on my watchlist while this topic is active, so no need to notify me on future posts.—Bagumba (talk) 18:40, 31 October 2012 (UTC)
Holiday greetings
Just stopping by to say "Merry Christmas and Happy New Year". Hope you have a wonderful holiday season!
AIG
Hi, Fma12
You replaced the official logo of AIG with one you found on some blog. Please see the article talk page.--SPhilbrick(Talk) 13:25, 22 December 2012 (UTC)
- Hi, SPhilbrick
- I replaced the official logo with other version of the official logo as well. I did not use apocryphal logos or false versions to place the file. As you say, the source is indeed a blog, but it does not invalidate the status of the logo so it is a serious graphic design website with trustworthy information.
- The current version on the infobox is the same I uploaded but with lower quality of image and colors (and with no transparent background). I edited the article with the purpose of improving it, as I do with all the pages on WP; and I don't understand why this image can't be affordable for you. If you have a reason, please let me know, or if you prefer, I could give my reasons on the article talk page to discuss the issue. Fma12 (talk) 15:58, 22 December 2012 (UTC)
- I'll post on the article talk page--SPhilbrick(Talk) 16:05, 22 December 2012 (UTC)
Boca Juniors foundation
Sorry Fma12 i probably should or run all my information by you first before editing the Boca Juniors page again. I have posted new References on the page about Patrick "Paddy" McCarthy on the foundation of Boca Juniors from new sources that i found on the net. I would like you to take a good look into my research on Patrick McCarthy involvement in the foundation of Boca Juniors that i have posted on the page. It seem to me that only part of the Amazing story of how Boca Juniors cam into existence is being told and only a few selective story being passed down threw the years i would just like to let the fans of Boca know the full story on how Boca Juniors was Founded.I would just like to know your thoughts on this subject? I look forwarder to hearing from you. I was just wondering if you could consider putting up a picture of Patrick McCarthy on the Boca page to put a face to the man to show the Boca fans of his involvement in Boca and Argentina sport. Peñarol
Fma, why do you keep changing the socks in the main uniform? Ive given a link proving it in the edit summary, here it is: http://campeondelsiglo.com/web/2013/02/04/se-presento-la-indumentaria-2013/. They have been black since the third game of the Apertura of the 2012-13 season, you can check that in this youtube playlist: [1]. Yellow against Fenix and River Plate, but black against Bella Vista and in the following games.
Anyhow, I've been working on traslating the spanish version of the article here User:Nuno93/C.A. Peñarol, since its featured on spanish wikipedia and the english version even has a missing-references template. I've seen you active these days and I'd love some help. The version being translated is evidently an old one, but since the article hasn't changed much since, I was planning on updating it to the current version once the translation was done.
What do you think? Like I said, I'd love some help. Cheers!—Nuno93 (talk) 01:36, 9 February 2013 (UTC)
- Nuno, Peñarol has been wearing yellow socks since a long time ago; in fact, the 2011-13 kits already had yellow socks. I based my edit on this article from the website "Todo sobre camisetas", if you take a look to the post there, you'll see that home kit socks are yellow.
- About the translation from the Spanish version, I'd be glad to help you, I recently edited the historic jerseys (beginning from CURCC) adding reference to support the edits. It is difficult to find consensus about the first uniforms of the club, some versions cite the square jersey while other talk about other uniform designs.
- The article on Spanish WP is quite long, but I'll assist you as much as I can. Is there any section in particular you want to translate first? Please let me know. Regards !!! Fma12 (talk) 03:21, 9 February 2013 (UTC)
- Check User:Nuno93/C.A. Peñarol, the spanish stuff that needs to be translated is there, you don't actually need to go to the spanish article... I mean, you may obviously, but I already pasted it all on that workspace and have been translating it bit by bit, leaving untranslated text in it. I tranlsated up until the Fans section, start wherever you want and if you don't mind read my translation, checking for any mistakes. Thanks a lot!
- About the socks, you are right on one thing, for quite some time Peñarol has been using yellow socks, but as you can see in that playlist, since the game against Bella Vista, they have been black. Your source is a blog after all... I know its popular blog, but still, the photos I gave you are of the uniform's presentation, I think its more trustworthy. Anyhow, if you still don't agree we can wait for the first game with this new first uniform and check out what colour the socks are then.
- Once again, thanks for your help on translating the article. Cheers!—Nuno93 (talk) 03:36, 9 February 2013 (UTC)
- Just realized I may have not been clear on the fact that I'm planning on having it all translated in User:Nuno93/C.A. Peñarol, and only then edit the english article by replacing it with the translated (and updated) version, given that there is no objection to it in a future section on the discussion page of the article.—Nuno93 (talk) 05:05, 9 February 2013 (UTC)
- Fma, just wondering if you could translate some of the spanish text in User:Nuno93/C.A. Peñarol. By the way, you were right after all, yellow socks. Cheers.—Nuno93 (talk) 11:43, 21 February 2013 (UTC)
- I've been translating some myself now and there's only one section left (Other sports), but I'd really appreciate it if you could read the article in search for any possible mistakes. Thanks in advance.—Nuno93 (talk) 11:51, 22 February 2013 (UTC)
- Nuno, when I took a look at your page, I saw that you had translated almost all the contents there, so my help was not necessary because you did all the work. I promise I'll take a time to read your article in English and tell you if I see something wrong. My objection would be with the historic uniforms: I've searching about the evolution of the kits and I consider that the current version on the English article (which I edited some time ago) is the most accurate of all, being based on reliable sources (cited there) . About the away kits, I would throw away most of the versions, leaving only the very rare kits (p.e., the green one). I will let you know if I find more points to be cleared. Best wishes, Fma12 (talk) 14:15, 22 February 2013 (UTC)
- Don't worry about it, and thanks for reading it. Its been more than two years since I finished studying english and I fear I might be a bit rusty because of the lack of practice.
- The home kit section is nearly the same, in the spanish version there are some other minor varieties but in general they are the same. Check that again, yesterday I updated the article to today's spanish version, and the home kit section changed. Regarding the away kit, if you think its best with less versions, I don't have any objection.—Nuno93 (talk) 14:30, 22 February 2013 (UTC)
Re: Argentine leagues and teams
Here are few things you must know. 1) You're doing a name change incorrectly. You do not simply move the content from one title to another without having a move discussion or just renaming the article. The way you are doing is completely incorrect. 2) Common name (WP:COMMONNAME) takes precedence over official name. There was even a small discussion about it in Arsenal's talk page. Digirami (talk) 23:07, 26 February 2013 (UTC)
- Disruptive is a matter of perspective. You think it is disruptive. But prior to its current version, the Primera Division article was just about the professional era since the amateur era was rife with competing leagues who crowned different champions. Therefore 1931 is the first year that can actually be the founding year for the Primera since it is the first year of that league. This is much the same as the Premier League, which was founded in 1992, but still crowns English football champions like its previous league, the First Division. The Primera was founded in 1931. Plain and simple. So, I can say that the addition of amateur stats is disruptive since it is in the wrong place. Digirami (talk) 01:16, 27 February 2013 (UTC)
- Of course it can't. I'm not saying it should be ignored. I'm saying the Primera was not founded in the 1800s. It was 1931. After all, that's the year the clubs broke away from whatever competitions were going on to form a professional league. But the fact that they broke away to form a new league entity means that the amateur Primera era shouldn't count toward the foundation and stats of the Primera as is. We have an article to cover the amateur era Primera and rival leagues (Amateur era in Argentine football). Digirami (talk) 06:08, 27 February 2013 (UTC)
NASL 1968-84 logos
Thanks for adding the San Diego Jaws logo to their page the other day. It looks great. To that end, several other old NASL logos are needed: Boston Beacons, Detroit Cougars, Oakland Stompers, Miami Toros and Miami Gatos (same page as Toros). Any chance you could ad/produce those as well?
Also, the 1981 Washington Diplomats were actually the relocated Detroit Express franchise and ownership that had moved after the 1974-80 Dips folded. Their logo, uniform and charter was different from the 1974-80 Diplomats. This is reflected in both the Dips and Express wikipages but the 1981 Dips logo should also be displayed on the site in the 1981 Dips infobox. Can you help?
Many thanks in advance, Creativewill (talk) 14:17, 5 April 2013 (UTC)
- Thank you for the recognition. Of course I'll be uploading more NASL logos during the next days. ;) If you need further assistance, please let me know.
- Kind regards, Fma12 (talk) 16:37, 5 April 2013 (UTC)
- As I value your opinion, please go to my talk page and view the section at the bottom titled "Looking for some feedback"
- Many thanks, Creativewill (talk) 16:15, 8 April 2013 (UTC)
Detroit Express kit
I think the home kit that you've posted might be a combination of two different seasons. The orange shirt looks like part of Detroit's 1979-1980 Adidas kits, but the shorts look like they come from the 1978 Admiral kit. And I'm pretty sure navy blue was their secondary color, not black. For a good look at a 1980 shirt go to this link: http://www.nasljerseys.com/Players/H/Hunter.Paul.htm . That site has an excellent array of actual uniform close-ups if you just navigate it a bit.
I see that you've been making some great enhancements throughout the NASL pages. I think the only NASL logos that are still lacking are the Miami Gatos (1972), Hartford Bicentenials (1975-76) and the Toronto Metros (1971-74) All the best to you, and keep up the great work! - Creativewill (talk) 15:07, 12 April 2013 (UTC)
File:Wv mount uniforms13.png
First off, let me thank you for your contribution to the West Virginia Mountaineers football page. The new uniforms make a great addition to the infobox and your concept drawing is spot-on. I do have one request, however: could you edit the face masks on the helmets to reflect the color utilized in this photo? In essence, the face masks for the blue and gold helmets are blue, while the white helmet has a white face mask. Again, I sincerely appreciate your work on the uniform concepts and for your contributing to the WVU football page. Thanks! Swcrowemessage 17:10, 21 April 2013 (UTC)
File:Wv mount uniforms13.png - another request
Once again, excellent work in editing the face masks to fit to specifications of the WVU football uniforms. I think there is one more necessary edit, however: the socks. The photo does not have the players wearing color-coordinated socks. I would say that the socks for the blue and gold uniforms should not be colored. I would use the North Carolina Tar Heels graphic as guidance. I would make the edit myself, but it is your image and I just wanted to pass along my opinion to you in order to get the specifications as exact as possible. Thank you again! Swcrowemessage 22:13, 22 April 2013 (UTC)
- I think I failed to communicate properly. The image that you created for the WVU uniforms has socks that have blue on the top for the blue uniform and gold on the top for the gold uniform. The image suggests that the blue uniform has white and blue socks and that the gold uniform has gold and white socks. If you could eliminate the blue sock tops and the gold sock tops it would be a perfect concept rendition of the uniform. I cannot edit the image myself. Thanks! Swcrowemessage 04:55, 23 April 2013 (UTC)
File:Wv_mount_uniforms13.png - one last thing
Hello again. After closely examining several photos of the new West Virginia Mountaineer football uniforms, it looks like the masks on the blue and gold helmets are black. Could you edit the concept image to reflect that? Also, if you could eliminate the blue and gold trim of the socks beneath and blue and gold pants, I think that would be about as close to perfect as you could get. Thank you once again! Swcrowemessage 23:53, 23 April 2013 (UTC)
New Uniforms
Hello. I noticed the nice work you have done with other college and NFL uniforms. Would you be interested in creating the new ones for the Jacksonville Jaguars? You can see a gallery of images here. I can field any questions you may have. ~ Richmond96 T • C 00:26, 25 April 2013 (UTC)
WV uniforms
Hey there friend, I came across these photos that provide a detailed look at the helmets: blue helmet and gold helmet. From looking at those photos, I would say that the masks are black. What do you think? Also, you are correct about the socks. They should be all white for all the uniforms. That means changing the blue uniform and gold uniform socks to look like the socks for the white uniform. Thank you again! Swcrowemessage 16:59, 25 April 2013 (UTC)

Request reason:
I was surprised with the notice I had been blocked so I was the person who made two reports to administrators due to the edits made by an anonymous user on Taringa!. I have been contributing with more than 14,000 to Wikipedia so I'm far from being a vandal. The article in disputed had been vandalized time ago (therefore protected) and now the history repeats. My intention was not to make an edit war, but I had to revert or revise all the changes made by annonymous through different IPs to vandalize the article several times. Whether I was unblocked or not, I suggest the article be protected from editing by non-registered users. Thanks. Fma12 (talk) 21:10, 29 April 2013 (UTC)
Decline reason:
I have looked at the history of your editing of that article. It is clear that, ever since you first edited it in 2009, you have had a possessive attitude to the article. You have repeatedly edit warred over the course of several years. You characterise as "vandalism" any editing of the article that you personally disagree with, even in the absence of any evidence of bad faith on the part of the editors you accuse of vandalism.
