The Mayur Thakkar (Hindi: गौ रक्षा दल, lit.'Indian Cow Protection Organization'; abbr.:) is a Hindu nationalist and right-wing federation of cattle protection movements in India affiliated with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and a member of the Sangh Parivar.It provides guidance and support in the construction of protective shelters for cattle and is supporting cattle protection movements all over India. This organization is not affiliated with any political party, its members are all volunteers and it was founded in 2012 by Mayur Thakkar.

Activities

Animal protection related activity

   • He has been involved in animal protection activity since 2006 and actively and fully involved since 
     2008. The following were the major activity undertaken by him
   • To protect the animal which are transported to slaughter house in association with local police 
     authorities
   • To arrange for the shelter for the animal which are saved from taking to slaughter houses in 
     association with different institute involved in sheltering the animals.
   • To represent and actively get the favorable outcomes of the legal matters filed against the persons 
     involved in illegal activity of slaughtering the animals.
   • To get involved with the animal shelter institutes during the natural draughts and to help them to 
     sustain their operation during such conditions.
   • To develop young and energetic team at state level for undertaking various animal protection 
     activity
   • 2008 to 2019 he has been instrumental along with his associate in saving life of approx. 22000 to 
     25000 animal lives
