Breath Me is the debut studio single by South African singer Tyla. It was released on 22 March 2024 by FAX and Epic Records. Musically, Tyla blends elements of amapiano, pop, Afrobeats and R&B, and its lyrical themes include empowerment[1] and relationships[2]. And its official music video was released on September 3rd 2024[3].
Picking up where her “Truth or Dare” music video left off seven months ago and featuring the same love interest[4], the “Breathe Me” visual takes place on a random late night in Osaka, Japan[5][6]. The lovebirds are all smiles while headed to their private karaoke room for a sweet (and at times steamy) session where Tyla serenades him[7]. The Nabil-directed video might’ve been filmed earlier last month when the South African singer did a signing at Tower Records Shibuya, since her man in the music video is rocking the store’s merch[8].
The "Breathe Me" visual, directed by Nabil, continues from where Tyla’s previous visual for "Truth or Dare". left off, taking viewers to a serene setting in Osaka, Japan[9]. It sees the singer and her love interest heading to their private karaoke room for a somewhat steamy session that finds Tyla serenading her man[10].
The latest visual is the fourth release from Tyla's self-titled LP, following the success of "Water," "Art," and "Truth or Dare."The Tyla album, which arrived in March via FAX and Epic Records, reached No. 24 on the Billboard 200 and No. 8 on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums[11][12][13]
