Hemant Shrimal is a Geetkar and Poet in Hindi language, known for his depth of expression and variety of melodious compositions. Over the last four decades, his thought provoking and deep impacting poetry has won many hearts and he has become favorite among the poetry lovers. He is best known for his poetries like ‘Chambal ki beti’ and ‘ Pani baba aaya re’. Two collections of his poetries have been released in his own voice, under the title of ‘Pal do pal to pyaar karo’ and ‘Pani baba aaya re’.

Hemant Shrimal was born on 12 August 1950 in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. Eldest among three brothers and two sisters, he completed his basic education in Ujjain and Shajapur. His father Dr. Pyarelal Shrimal “Saras” Pundit is a renowned “Sangeet Shastri”. From the very childhood, he received music oriented atmosphere in the family, which laid the foundation of his interest in signing, poetry and compositions. From a very young age, he started participating in various musical programs and eventually started writing his own compositions. The deep inclination towards the field of poetry and music made him to complete Bachelor degree in Music and leave Chartered Accountancy course just before the final stage.

During the course of last four decades, he has delivered heart touching compositions on philosophical, moral and social issues and has left a deep impact on poetry lovers. He made his strong presence felt during various national programs, including at Red Fort, Parliament Club, Film Trust of India, Rajasthan Society, Hindi Academy and Geet Chandani. His philosophical and devotional compositions are used by many saints in their prayers and discourses.

Being the first poet from Ujjain to appear on small screen during 1980s, he also featured in the Television program “Vah-Vah”. His collections of well known poetries have been released under the title of ‘Pal do pal to pyaar karo’ and ‘Pani baba aaya re’. His collections of philosophical compositions (Anjuri Bhar Aakash) and romantic compositions (Chullu Bhar Chandani) are due for release. HMV has made records of few of his compositions. He has also written the title song for upcoming television serial “Ehasaas”.
