3 cardinal rules to remember while editing Wikipedia

edit
  1. Read thoroughly to understand why someone wrote/edited something the way they did. Check for patterns of prior behavior, ask direct questions and doubke check on your own concepts and knowledge before attempting to edit.
  2. Just because you can, doesn't mean its right to unilaterally revert long edits. Instead, take time out to correct the part you feel should be replaced. Don't negate someone's hardwork and devotion to genuinely make a Wiki about something better.
  3. Always be courteous, especially when writing the edit summary, or while pointing something out to other users on their talk pages or justifying your actions.

Ever since we got an internet connection at home, back when I was in Class 8, I've been lost in Wikipedia. Since then, I've spent thousands of hours surfing through pages, often with no particular end in mind. But I frequently saw that articles were not accurate, or simply articulated enough. The day I realized that I only keep on taking from the community and never give anything back is the day I made my first edit.
