About Julia Mulligan
Elected on 15th November 2012, Julia Mulligan is the first Police and Crime Commissioner for North Yorkshire. Before taking up her current role, Julia was a business woman of some 25 years standing. She started her career in the publishing industry before taking up marketing and branding consultancy roles working with a wide range of organisations in the UK and overseas including Ford Motor Compay, Telstra Commuications, McKinsey and Company and a number of government agencies. She also has extensive experience of working with the public sector, in particular the NHS. Julia's business experience also included running her own successful firm for five years. In 2006 she was elected as a local councillor in Craven and in 2010 stood for Parliament for the marginal seat of Leeds North West.
