Gorm Field[9] MS Faros (rescuer lost)[10] 30 October 2000 storm. Water entering the engine room - the ship will have engine trouble and could no longer maneuver. The 86 meter long ship was carrying 2100 tons of wood, was lopsided in the 12-15 meter high waves and it became necessary to evacuate the seven crew members. " sinks on the 3rd November while under towIt could not be done, to rescue the crew directly up into the helicopter, because of the high waves and the ship heeled - succeeded but for the crew to get a life raft in the water. The rescue ship west coast now put a lifeboat down to relieve it, by now somewhat exhausted crew in the fleet .. Since there were 8 men in the lifeboat, it was hit by a rough sea, it tipped around and all the smoke into the sea - among them, 58 year old sailor, Ole S. Olesen from rescue ship west coast. All were, after several hours of unsuccessful attempts, rescued by helicopter, but the sailor was dead and it was not possible to revive him. The 7 crewmembers from Faro, was rescued alive. "3 november 2000, Faro sinks under tow, but stand for several days with the bow above the water and stern on the seabed before it is finally to rest next to Kandestederne"[11]

In Norway record high water levels recorded at Tregde sorland 160 cm over sea level[12]
