Curriculum

The school follows the syllabus prescribed by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), New Delhi for classes I- X.

The school follows the Maria Montessori's and Dr. Glenn Doman's methodologies to ensure a positive attitude towards learning. These methodologies include flash card method, teacher- student interactive programs, etc

For classes I to V, the school follows the XSEED program. It is a program that uses experimental and research based methodology to help in the narrative learning about a concept.

To prepare the students for the the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) Examination (Tenth Grade), the school follows text books prescribed by the board along with various project activities and practical classes.

The school also offers IGCSE curriculum to students in Grade 11 and 12, thus benefiting students who want to pursue higher education overseas.

Academics

The school adheres to the scope of syllabus provided by the Council for the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education for Grades I- X and International General Certificate of Secondary Education for Grades XI- XII. The school has Kindergarten (Pre- KG, LKG and UKG), Primary School (Grades 1-4), Middle School (Grades 5-8) and High School (Grades 9-12) classes. English is the medium of instruction. Therefore, the quality of English is stressed upon (both aural and oral). The school follows the trimester system, which is a three- termed system.

  • The school offers Tamil or Hindi as the choices for the Second as well as Third language. Students who choose Tamil as their Second language have to pick Hindi as their Third language and vice versa.
  • Value education is compulsory for all grades from I- XII.The school believes in the ideals of The Mother "Mirra Alfassa"and Aurobindo Ghosh. The students in high school are exposed to the principles written by The Mother and Sri Aurobindo Ghosh in their books.

Inter school competitions

The school conducts Vasudha Vatsalya, an interschool event that includes creative writing, debate, declamation and quiz for ICSE schools.

The students participate in Albert Barrow Memorial All India Inter School Creative Writing Competition and Frank Anthony Memorial All-India Inter-School Debate that is conducted by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations.

Annual Sports Meet

Annual Sports Meet is the sports event conducted in the school grounds, which involves the compulsory participation of each student in demonstrations and track and field events. The Rolling Cup is given to the team with highest points, while the Individual championship is given to a male and female student with highest individual points both in junior and senior category.

Olympiads

The students of the school participate in Olympiad examinations organized by Science Olympiad Foundation, (SOF) and Silver Zone. SOF organizes the National Cyber Olympiad (NCO), the National Science Olympiad (NSO), the International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO) and the International English Olympiad (IEO). The students also participate in Spell bee competition conducted by I.N.D.I.A. Trust.

Project Day

Project work is conducted once or twice a year and includes mime, debate, dance and skit. The school project's theme varies from Internationalism to Remembering the Sacrifice.

Newsletter

The school's newsletter- Prim Buddies is published every month that includes contributions from students of all classes in the form of articles, poems, drawings, etc. It is published in the school's website and is managed by the Student Editorial Team.

Event of the month

Event of the month is conducted every month by the school that includes a competition a month ranging from origami to show and tell, etc.

Field trips

The school takes all the classes to field trips once in each of the three terms according to the class in which the student studies. The high school students are taken on an adventure based program conducted by Youreka that includes rock climbing, back packing, mountain biking, out door survival, astronomy, theatre, music and other such activities for four or more days.

Pratyutpanna

Pratyutpanna is a student -run business inspired by the "School Enterprise Challenge". It is a company that takes reusable items and transforms them into gifts and decorative articles like bags, key chains, photo frames, accessories, etc. The profits earned from this business is either contributed to charity or used for improvising school education. House System

The students are divided into four houses- Red Rose (red), Ivy(green), Blue Bells (blue) and Marigold (yellow). Each team has a captain, vice captain and a house teacher in charge of the team. The team with the highest number of points is awarded the Rolling Cup at the end of the year.
