32 years experience as a professional writer, researcher, publisher, and editor, including:
- 29 years in technology industries, mostly documenting software for Fortune 500 companies.
- 3 years editing, researching, and writing K-12 History textbooks for 1st-tier publishers.
11 years half-time College teaching, including:
- 9 years teaching technical writing and advanced technical writing subjects
- 1 year teaching freshman composition and English literature
- 1 year teaching Bible, Church History, and Worship
2 years technical training
12 years as a web developer, including several intranets and two internets for Fortune 500 companies and several hobby web pages that have thousands of readers and have earned industry recognition.
Avocations:
- 42 years as a singer-songwriter, writing and performing folk and Gospel-related music thousands of times in many different venues, including churches, camps, festivals, and coffeehouses; also playing acoustic guitar, saxophone, bass guitar, 5-string banjo, flute, and several other instruments.
- 31 years teaching adult or young adult Sunday School
- 16 years as youth director or associate pastor, including frequent pulpit supply in regional churches.
- 18 years experience as a praise team member
- 12 years leading contemporary worship services in evangelical churches
- A.S.C.A.P. member since 1995
- 12 years publishing gardening and garden railroading articles
