Am working on several articles that would make good links from certain Wikipedia articles when I'm done with them. Probably won't write any Wikipedia articles per se - though I am a careful researcher and fact-checker, I prefer to write in a more colloqial, personal style - a right I've earned as a 32-year nonfiction and technical writer and trainer. Howard Connors who worked for them (long before you joined) [1] was my father's best friend. He died when a drunk ran a stop sign. I was one of his heirs. Dougweller (talk) 19:18, 13 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

CCM performers

edit

Maybe you would be interested in the discussion going on here: User talk:Boguslavmandzyuk#Alan Hall (musician). I'm getting the impression that the people I am talking to contest the notability of CCM performers and Christian music is not important enough to for any of it's less famous performers to be covered here on wikipedia. Personally, I thought I had cleary established the notability of Allan Hall of Selah), but my claims are being flat-out rejected without any consideration and reasons to say why they are wrong, the sources I provide (which are considered valid in every single article, excpet when it comes to Mr. Hall apparently) are being said to have no value, amidst offensive claims that "The Dove awards are pretty much meaningless". --BoguSlav 04:04, 22 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Boguslavmandzyuk,
As a former Jesus musician myself, who would like to see more of my old friends listed here, I understand your frustration at being censured for trying to post an article about someone you respect. However, I don't have any influence here, and have been censured myself for less. So other than being permitted to add a few tweaks, delete a few objectionable graphics and links that really didn't belong, and make a few suggestions, I've let it go. Fortunately, I run a site where I can post fact-based, chronological, detailed articles on these subjects, so I've elected to withdraw from petty arguments about whose favorite band should get special coverage or whatever here.

I think you've missed the point here. This isn't me trying to push through my own personal favorites to have articles. It seems that there's a group of editors that consider that Christian music is less notable than the others (they actually consider to be NOT notable). Allan Hall fits wikipedia's notability criteria, but these editors flat out reject it with no wikipedia policy support. See my latest comment here: Talk:Allan Hall (musician), and I really hope you comment. cheers :)--BoguSlav 02:12, 21 May 2012 (UTC)Reply
