Request for Deletion, Burger King menu items

I am the creator and primary editor of this article. (Jerem43)

The are several reasons I created the article:

1. To help show how BK adapts it product lines for the local taste across the globe. Being a large multinational corporation, Burger King has chosen to adapt its product lines to the markets they are operating in. The Burger King menu items article is in fact showing a facet of the corporate business strategy BK has chosen to employ as it expands globally.
2. There were numerous commentaries in the Burger King Talk section about article being US-centric, specifically the Products and Advertising sections. Because of the large number of local menus and advertising programs BK has around the globe, to add all of the information from all global menus and advertising would make the primary article too large and unwieldy. With this in mind, I created the two secondary articles Burger King menu items and Burger King advertising to more accurately and thoroughly cover the information.
3. The main Burger King article was over the 50 KB range, because people had added information to the Products and Advertising sections of the article n an attempt to address point 2.
4. After seeing the McDonald's, Ford, Unilever and other articles, there seemed to be a precedence of showing products of these corporations. In each of these articles there there is a master list or table of contents listing the products the companies sell or manufacture. Furthermore that list or TOC have links to secondary articles that give more detail on the products. While the Burger King menu items is a separate article from the main Burger King article, it is providing the same function of the lists that are seen in those other articles. Please note that the there is a request to separate the Ford article into a main corporate article and a separate product article, this would follow the same structural pattern that I used in creating this article.
5. In listing the menu items, I was attempting show how BK uses corporate cross licensing to help grow market share. Specifically, in the Beverages section you will see that BK sells specific products of other companies (Coca-Cola Corporation, Cadbury-Schweppes, Nestlé and Hershey's) to help drive customer sales. It has been shown that people exhibit brand loyalty, and this is one way BK exploits that brand loyalty in boosting its market share.
6. In listing the menu items, I attempted show how BK targets specific demographic markets. If you read the article, you will see that several, but not all, have the demographic target that BK is attempting to reach with that product. (I had been cleaning up other BK related articles and was going to finish the tagging demographic markets of the products, but had not gotten back to the article.)
7. Burger King is not in all markets: China, Russia and many other nations do not have Burger King restaurants. The Burger King menu items article could provide people of these regions an idea of what BK sells. This adheres to the mission of Wikipedia in providing an unbiased informational source. If people of those markets went to BK's corporate web site for that data, they would not be getting unbiased information.

Based on these facts, the 'Burger King menu items article is not trivia or just a list of menu items, but instead it helps to show some of the corporate strategies (e.g. demographic targeting, co-branding and local market awareness) BK employs in competing in the global market.

In addition, I am sure that if you research the Wikipedia database you will find similar precedence of having a separate article relating to products sold by a corporation.

Deletion of The Æffect page

I was just notified by a fan that The Æffect page was removed by you. I was in this band and it is kind of sad to see this happen. I looked at the requirements for notability and I am sure we would have qualified so I'm not sure why it was taken down? Video on MTV by Brent Chesanek (mars volta, the roots, john vanderslice, etc), record on Fueled By Ramen (Panic at the Disco, Fall Out Boy) and Suburban Home Records a notable underground punk label, played on the Warped Tour, played at CMJ and South by Southwest (SXSW), made our record at Smart Studios (Butch Vig, Nirvana, Garbage, Smashing Pumpkins). Jim Shearer, MTV VJ, was seen wearing our shirt on MTV at least on 5 different occasions while hosting video shows. If not enough users contributed info, I would be glad to make the listing accurate and detailed. The band no longer exists but that should play no part in our notability. Our importance to the music scene was strong, as we and The Faint paved the way for some of today's bands such as The Killers and other copycats to emerge. 67.188.41.22 19:49, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

50 Cent

I thought that Forbes website was a good citation source for the fact that 50 Cent bought Mike Tysons mansion; also 50Cent.com is his official website so i thought that that should be classed as reliable enough seen as most of the article on Wikipedia about 50 Cent is just simply copied from the Biography section of 50Cent.com. Didn't realise I had reverted to a vandalised version. WP:RS is a guideline, not a policy. Furthermore it contains nothing stating video cannot be used as a reliable source. RFA?

Thank you greatly for the offer - I feel extremely honoured and - tell the truth - not a little flattered that someone has noticed my contribs in this way. However, if it's alright with you I would prefer to wait another few weeks before going to RFA? I've seen worse candidates get the mop, but to cut a longish story short I feel that there are one or two areas of policy and process where my knowledge is slightly lacking, and I would prefer to remedy those before going to RFA, just to make it as close to cast-iron as I possibly could. Saw that you reverted edits on the Lil Wayne page for streaming music and his profile on Haystack. The whole page is provided by his Label Universal Music Group. It is important that this remains up because Lil Wayne actually earns a royalty on streams. it said that musical group should be well represented on wikipedia, i dont see what guidelines i failed to meet or what violations i am guilty of. Please help me to under stande the problem

User:Budgiekiller's RfA

Hi Jaranda. Just wanted to point out that Budgiekiller has thousands of edits which were about writing, developing the 'pedia, before his recent flurry of vandal fighting. Take a look at his Barnstar collection for some evidence of this. Or the history of the two articles he cites in Q2 of his RfA questions. He's unarguably got not many WP edits (the arguable side is how important that is, lol), but to discount him for not writing much is unfair. It's just that since the Suffolk Strangler was arrested, he's spent his time vandal fighting; a period of about a month (but a heck of a lot of edits). --Dweller 18:56, 6 January 2007 (UTC)

Bill Froats

I was just hopping around from link to link and I noticed you prodded the Bill Froats article. I'd like to contest this prod, as other one-game MLB players (see Joe Adams (baseball)) have survived AFDs in the past. Google hits are mostly irrelevant, as this guy played in the 1950s. You'd have to look through old newspapers to find additional biographical information. If nothing else, I think this page deserves a full AFD discussion. I'm curious why you decided that the concensus for Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Decemyriagon was to redirect. It seemed to me the number of correspondents calling for outright deletion was about twice as large as those calling for rename/merger. Inappropriate closure of Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Jeffrey Mishlove

I think your abrupt deletion of the Jeffrey Mishlove article was a totally unjustified abuse of your admin privileges. The majority of those who voted in the brief RFD period before you closed it voted to "keep" the article. The article was not, as you claim, totally unsourced--a large number of verifiable books and articles by Mishlove were documented, his television program is easily verified, there was evidence (though not definitive) that his claimed PhD in Parapsychology from Berkeley is authentic, there are 36,000 "google" hits for the guy, and the discussion was clearly still active. Rowing at the 1896 Summer Olympics

Greetings. I just noticed you transformed the titled article into a redirect to the main sport page Rowing at the Summer Olympics. Could you explain me why you did that and erased the deletion tag I added yesterday? I specifically wanted it to be deleted so that any internal links to it, on Wikipedia, would disappear for good. But no other article will be created. At least by us, members of Wikipedia:WikiProject Sports Olympics. The main reason behind my intention lies on some of the templates we use extensively on Olympic-related articles which are coded to check if a sport was contested at a specific Olympiad by looking up that article's existence on Wikipedia. Well, we rely a lot on these templates, and since rowing wasn't competed in 1896, it was important to have this article deleted (obviously without neglecting its valid content which I stated in the PROD tag) so that those templates display the right data.
