I am a graduate of The City University London. I commenced my career in computer operations with the Civil Service in Hertfordshire and later the Greater London Council prior to entering the Accountancy profession. I qualified as a Chartered Accountant whilst working for Moore Stephens in 1984. I am a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. Throughout my career, I have also gained extensive experience in Electrical Engineering , Electronic Engineering and Photography.
Early family life, with my father being a politician, gave me a strong interest in politics, both social and economic. Politically I consider myself to be centre-right. I am a member of the Conservative Party (UK). I am, however, a fundamental opponent of the Death Penalty in all circumstances.
I am a very keen photographer and my Nikon cameras accompany me on my travels which have so far included India, Goa, Egypt, Turkey, almost all countries in Europe, Barbados, St Lucia, Jamaica , Brazil, The United States and Canada.
I am also a fully qualified amateur radio operator
I take inspiration from people who are determined to succeed in the most adverse circumstances. Notable people in this category are Douglas Bader and Eugene Kranz
