Sergio Salcido
editSergio Salcido (born April 25, 1994) is an American professional Lacrosse player on the Redwoods Lacrosse Club of the Premier Lacrosse League. Salcido played collegiately at Syracuse University, where his team reached the 2013 NCAA Division 1 Men's National Championship.
Salcido is the founder of SS48 Lacrosse & is a current Division 2 Men's Lacrosse assistant at Rollins College located in Winter Park, Florida.
Early Life
editGrowing up, Salcido attended Winter Park High School. During his time at Winter Park High, Salcido was a standout multi-sport athlete. In lacrosse, Salcido led Winter Park to three consecutive State Regional Finals, 2010, 2011, & 2012.
Professional Career
editSalcido was drafted 8th overall in the Major League Lacrosse Draft for the 2013 Major League Lacrosse season. Salcido was a midfielder with the Florida Launch organization from 2017 until midway through the 2018 season.
Salcido was traded during week 8 of the 2018 season to the Atlanta Blaze for a 5th round draft pick. Since joining the Blaze, Salcido helped the Blaze return to the post-season as the fourth seed in the 2018 MLL Championship Weekend competing for the Steinfeld Cup. The Blaze fell in the semifinal round to the Denver Outlaws organization who later went on to win the 2018 Championship.
Salcido is currently signed with the Premier Lacrosse League as a midfielder for the Redwoods Lacrosse Club. Salcido was named a Premier Lacrosse League All-Star in the leagues inaugural season.
Collegiate Career
editSergio Salcido began attending Syracuse University in the fall of 2012. Salcido had joined John Desko & the historic Syracuse Orange men's lacrosse program as a walk-on. During the fall of 2012 Salcido underwent ACL reconstruction & was sidelined for the remainder of the 2012 & 2013 season. Salcido would return to the iconic program during the fall of 2013 & went on to become one the nations top performers. Salcido completed his undergrad in 2016 with a degree in Business Management & Finance from the Martin J. Whitman School of Management. Salcido elected to use his fifth year of collegiate eligibility to attend Syracuse's S. I. Newhouse School of Public Communications with a graduate focus in advertising. Salcido led the orange to four consecutive NCAA Division 1 Men's Lacrosse tournaments. Salcido was a 2-time All-American while at Syracuse as well as the ACC Offensive Player of the Year in 2017. Salcido was Syracuse Universities team captain in 2017.

Salcido was a 2-time Division 1 Men's Lacrosse 1st-Team Atlantic Coast Conference member.
Salcido was a 2-time Division 1 Men's Lacrosse 1st-Team Atlantic Coast Conference Championships tournament team member.
Salcido was a 2-time Division 1 Men's Lacrosse Atlantic Coast Conference champion.
Salcido was named the 2017 Atlantic Coast Conference Offensive Player of the Year.
Salcido was nominated as a semifinalist for the 2017 Tewaaraton Award.
Salcido was awarded the HEADstrong Foundation: Nick Colleluori Award in 2016.

editHe is from Winter Park, FL born to Nancy & Moses Salcido & brother of Marisa Salcido. He attended Winter Park High School.
