Mahendra Kumar Rout (Odia: [TO FILL IN]) (4 January 1924 - 7 February 1990) was a well-known Oriya educator, administrator and chemistry professor at Ravenshaw College,Utkal University and other institutions. He is best known for his roles as Principal of Ravenshaw College between 1971 and 1980, vice chancellor of Utkal University between 1980 and 1983, and the first chairman of the Odisha State Pollution Control Board.
