Pop Music Massacre is a satiric music podcast hosted by Paul McMailer and Tufty McKlagen-Jones, covering news and new releases from modern metal bands and critiquing chart music.
History
editJones and McMailer both hold strong opinions regarding music. Their initial plans were to put the world to rights by creating influential music through their bands the Merchants of I and Posterium. This would theoretically cause a ripple effect, pushing bad music to the fringe. These plans were cancelled after many years of failed musical endeavours due to an overwhelming lack of ability.
In 2019 the prospect of a music podcast became the most viable route for the pair to have a creative output related to music. In a test run of their podcast, they decided that the best replacement for Cannibal Corpse lead guitarist Pat O'Brien would be former Oasis lead guitarist and primary songwriter Noel Gallagher.
