The McMillan M88 is a bolt-action sniper rifle chambered for the NATO .50-caliber BMG cartridge (12.7 x 99 mm). As with other single-shot sniper rifles by US-based McMillan Brothers Rifle Company it has a proprietary action with a multi-lug rotating shell-holder bolt. Muzzle brake recoil buffers are utilized for recoil dampening.
