SuggestBot only picks articles from specific categories when it creates its suggestions. These categories contain articles that are tagged by the community as in need of specific improvements (for instance by using the {{Refimprove}} template). By using these categories we assure that SuggestBot does not suggest articles that does not need more attention by Wikipedia contributors. If you have any questions or concerns about these categories, please don't hesitate to get in touch with us on SuggestBot's talk page.
There are currently eight task categories used by SuggestBot:
- Add sources
- Cleanup
- Expand
- Merge
- Orphan
- Stub
- Unencyclopaedic
- Wikify
Each of these task categories corresponds to a set of Wikipedia categories. As of Nov 1, 2013 the categories are as follows:
- Add sources:
- Cleanup:
- Merge:
- Category:All articles to be merged
- Category:Articles to be merged
- Also all direct sub-categories of Category:Merge by month that are not a stub-category.
- Orphan:
- Unencyclopaedic:
- Stub:
- Stub-articles are found by searching for sub-categories of Category:Stub categories. The categories have to have the word "Stub" in their name after one of the other words (e.g. "1980s album stubs") and cannot be further than five levels below the top category. These restrictions are in place to prevent searches down erroneous paths in the category graph, which would lead to non-stub articles being added to this task category.
