Péter FRIED, a Hungarian operatic singer is renowned as a leading soloist at the Hungarian State Opera. He has been honored with prestigious awards including: e.g., Liszt-Prize, Bartók-Award. He had success with his most important roles from U.S.A.- to Japan, e.g.: Sarastro, Ramfis, Colline, Gremin, Seneca, Rocco, Basilio, Don Alfonso, Philippo II., Guardian, Banquo, Landgrave (Tannhäuser), King Henry (Lohengrin), Arkel, and Bluebeard. Fried had invitation by Péter Eötvös to his own opera Three Sisters in the Opera National de Lyon and in the Wiener Festwochen, and in Cologne recorded by WDR, and in Paris, and Hall of Santa Cecilia Roma brodcasted by RAI.
Fried has been successful with his notable roles in BOZAR, in Royal Albert Hall, in Barbican Hall, BBC PROMS, broadcasted by TV BBC and by Radio Benelux, conductor by Pierre Boulez. He has during a ten years exclusive contract with the Boulez Management. He was returning guest star of the most famous stages and festivals: in Paris, London, Roma, Brussels, Washington, Baltimore, Helsinki, Oslo, Nagoya and Tokyo.
Péter Fried was invited by Pierre Boulez in Paris to title role Bartók’s „Bluebeard Castle” in the Theatre du Châtelet. This performance has won the title -best concert of the year- and was recorded by Radio France. Péter Fried has performances of title role „Bluebeard” more than 100 invitation int he worlds. Bartók's Bluebeard's Castle's among was performed by Péter Fried and conducted by Péter Eötvös, and the CD of this performance in Stuttgart has won a Grammy Award nomination. He had notable performances in the USA, broadcasted by NBC, CBS, and in Torino recorded by RAI. Péter Fried has more invitations by world-famous conductors and directors e.g. Sir Yehudi Menuhin, Philippe Jordan, Rico Saccani, Jury Simonov, K. I. Kobayashi, Laurent Pelly, Robert Lapage. Since 2014 Péter Fried has been Professor of Vocal Department at the Franz Liszt Music Academy of Budapest.
