My name is Vinod Jetley. I live in Mumbai, which is on the shores of Arabian Sea. I give God the glory in all I do. I have been on the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra in 1994.
I was born on October 19, 1953, in Una, Himachal Pradesh, India. I am a 1972 graduate (BSc, Hons in Maths) of Panjab University Chandigarh. I am a 1973 post-graduate (Diploma for Advanced Studies in Science, Theoretical Physics) of the University of Manchester, UK. I am also a 2004 post-graduate (M.Sc., Information Technology) of the Punjab Technical University Jalandhar. I also studied for (but did not complete) Fellow Program in Management (FPM) at Indian Institute of Management Calcutta during 1984-85.
I was appointed a tutor for Physics undergraduates at the Schuster Laboratory of the erstwhile Victoria University of Manchester during 1973-1975 while I was a Ph.D. student. The University is now known as the University of Manchester. I was not able to complete my Ph.D.
I joined the State Bank of India in 1977 as a Probationary Officer. I have been working there ever since in various capacities at various places(Ranchi, Hazaribagh, Bhagalpur, Muzaffarpur, Patna, Chicago, Bagaha, Chandigarh, Mohali, Ludhiana, Jammu, Panchkula & Mumbai). I am an Assistant General Manager in the Asset liability management Department of the Bank. The Department monitors the 'Interest rate risk' and the 'Liquidity Risk' of the Bank.
I like to go trekking. I have been on a trek to Rohtang pass(Himachal Pradesh), Hadrian's wall(Yorkshire), Pindari glacier(Kumaon), Kailash-Mansarovar(Tibet).
My daughter, Ankita, wants to be a dental surgeon. My son, Ananya, wants to be a chemical engineer. They are both studying for their respective courses.
