Proposed deletion of Meir Jakobsohn

edit

The article Meir Jakobsohn has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. scope_creep (talk) 14:49, 3 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Meir Jakobsohn

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Meir Jakobsohn, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for the calculation of the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. See User:RonBot for info on how to not get these messages. Orphaned non-free image File:Amnon Pazi.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Amnon Pazi.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 18:22, 28 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

Non-free content use

edit

Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia. We always appreciate when users upload files. However, it appears that one or more of the files you have uploaded or added to a page, specifically User:Ovedc/sandbox, may fail our non-free policy. Most often, this involves editors uploading or using a copyrighted file of a living person. For other possible reasons, please read up on our Non-free criteria. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- Marchjuly (talk) 21:20, 3 February 2019 (UTC)Reply

Non-free files are required to be used in at least one article per WP:NFCC#7 and those which aren't are considered to be orphaned non-free use. An orphaned non-free file is eligible for deletion per WP:F5, but there is a seven day grace period given before a file is tagged for deletion and it's actually deleted. So, if the draft your working on is approved before the grace period expires, you can re-add the file to article. You can then remove the {{Di-orphaned fair use}} or leave it for the administrator who reviews such files to do. If, on the other hand, the draft takes longer than expected to be approved and the file is deleted in the meantime; you can request that it be restored per WP:REFUND after the draft has been approved. Please don't remove the "Di-orphaned fair use" from the file's page again as long as it is still orphaned non-free use. Doing so will not stop the file from being deleted and will not affect whether the draft is ultimately accepted. -- Marchjuly (talk) 01:53, 4 February 2019 (UTC)Reply

Please read WP:PAID. The rules on enwiki vary from hewiki (where they are much much looser). Specifically per Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure#Conflict of interest guideline - paid editors on enwiki are not supposed to edit articles directly. Nor should they create them - but rather they are supposed to go through the AfC process - Wikipedia:Articles for creation. Following creation, paid editors on enwiki are "very strongly discouraged from directly editing affected articles" - and generally influence articles by posting talk page comments and requesting (e.g. via the appropriate wiki project - e.g. Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Israel) other users to review. Icewhiz (talk) 13:25, 4 February 2019 (UTC)Reply

Also, note that enwiki enforcement in this regard is much harsher than hewiki (e.g. Wikipedia:Conflict of interest/Noticeboard). While I am not an expert in COI/PAID - I am willing to help in answering questions, and if you prefer Hebrew that's OK too (also on my hewiki user talk).
