But
editThank you for your contributions but the article already has images of the drawings. Your links to the Princeton collection don't actually provide evidence that a significant number of prints were made, so it is not a valid citation where you put it. Possibly they could go in the External Links section but, as I day, the article is already illustrated. What do they add that is new? --John Maynard Friedman (talk) 18:45, 20 September 2021 (UTC)

Lauttasaari water tower
editHello,
I see you changed "spurious events" into "various events" at the article Lauttasaari water tower. The original Finnish text read:
- Vesilaitos suostui satunnaisiin tapahtumiin, jolloin tornista avautuviin näköaloihin oli mahdollisuus tutustua.
Here "satunnaisiin" means "random", "infrequent", "irregular". The idea is that there were some events for the public to see the view from the top of the tower, but these were not very often and were only held every now and then. How could this be phrased better? JIP | Talk 17:46, 23 October 2021 (UTC)
- @JIP: excuse me for butting in as I'm just passing through but spurious is wildly the wrong word given those translations. Various is not great but nowhere nearly as bad. I guess you could use "intermittent"? which is a word for 'happens from time to time, with no obvious pattern" - for ex "my computer has an intermittent hardware fault". ("Random" in this context would have a pejorative connotation.) --John Maynard Friedman (talk) 23:14, 26 October 2021 (UTC)
- I see the word has already been changed to "occasional". That is OK with me. JIP | Talk 00:08, 27 October 2021 (UTC)

editWelcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Adsorption has been reverted.
Your edit here to Adsorption was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (https://www.science.org/doi/10.1126/science.abk1391) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 19:05, 26 October 2021 (UTC)

Humours of an Election
editTo the person who continued to contribute material to Humours of an Election#An Election Entertainment, thank you. Although we have been modifying each other's changes, this is Wikipedia working as it should. The result is a more accurate article than it was before we started. Thank you especially for the O'Connell citation. --John Maynard Friedman (talk) 12:00, 24 February 2022 (UTC)
