edit

Hi, and thanks for your edits, but there's no real point to adding spaces like this. It's purely stylistic and personal choice. It's not required, and your removal of spaces from the track listing section isn't really common and actually inhibited quick scanning of it while editing. Ss112 02:59, 12 September 2017 (UTC)Reply

Please refrain from making test edits in Wikipedia pages, such as those you made to Wikipedia:Simplified Manual of Style, even if you intend to fix them later. Your edits have been reverted. If you would like to experiment again, please use the sandbox. Thank you.  — SMcCandlish ¢ ≽ʌⱷ҅ʌ≼  06:03, 25 September 2017 (UTC)Reply

Sorry about that; I misunderstood the point of your edit. However, the resultant style was italic, which isn't what we'd used there. What happened was someone was trying to boldface the title with '''...''' but the parent template is already providing that markup to the entire line, so it resulted in the parser getting confused by too much ''' markup, and outputting some stray ' characters (which aren't virgules in English, but apostrophes or single quotation marks). The solution was to remove the ''' markup from the parameter's content and just let the parent template handle it.  — SMcCandlish ¢ ≽ʌⱷ҅ʌ≼  17:32, 25 September 2017 (UTC)Reply

Pointless spaces

edit

Hello, I see you've been asked in the past to stop inserting pointless spaces into wikicode and you're still doing it. There is no point in inserting spaces after bullets because the rendered text is the same. These edits can be construed as disruptive and you may be blocked if you can't acknowledge the concerns of other editors and discuss your edits. --Spike Wilbury (talk) 15:20, 6 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

Hello, IP address. You've already been asked twice to stop inserting pointless spaces into wikicode and, yet, you're still doing it (as seen here). Such edits can be construed as disruptive. Please stop doing it. NewYorkActuary (talk) 21:01, 19 November 2017 (UTC)Reply
Hello again, IP address. For the fourth time, you are asked to stop making pointless edits to the Wikicode, as you did recently at Xiaoyi and several other articles. These edits are disruptive. Please revert them and stop doing any more. NewYorkActuary (talk) 04:29, 25 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I'm Oshwah. An edit you recently made to The Final Destination seemed to be a test and has been removed. If you want more practice editing, the sandbox is the best place to do so. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 18:45, 14 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so you can avoid further irrelevant notices.

Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

I noticed your recent edit to 2012 (film) does not have an edit summary. Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.

Edit summary content is visible in:

Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. You can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing →   Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. Thanks! DonIago (talk) 14:42, 1 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

Recent edit to Survivor (film)

edit

Hello. I noticed that you recently made a contribution to the Survivor (film) article that seemed to be a test. Your test worked! However, test edits on live articles disrupt Wikipedia and may confuse readers. If you want more practice editing, the sandbox is the best place to do so. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you! MrBill3 (talk) 20:45, 21 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit you made to JoJo (singer), did not appear constructive and has been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use the sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page JoJo (singer) has been reverted.
Your edit here to JoJo (singer) was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (https://twitter.com/iamjojo) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a blog, forum, free web hosting service, fansite, or similar site (see 'Links to avoid', #11), then please check the information on the external site thoroughly. Note that such sites should probably not be linked to if they contain information that is in violation of the creator's copyright (see Linking to copyrighted works), or they are not written by a recognised, reliable source. Linking to sites that you are involved with is also strongly discouraged (see conflict of interest).
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 17:25, 28 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, talk pages are meant to be a record of a discussion; deleting or editing legitimate comments is considered bad practice, even if you meant well. Even making spelling and grammatical corrections in others' comments is generally frowned upon, as it tends to irritate the users whose comments you are correcting. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. DonIago (talk) 18:04, 28 December 2017 (UTC)Reply
