Speedy deletion nomination of Sarah Shepherd Andrews

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Sarah Shepherd Andrews requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. - MrX 11:12, 1 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself, as you did with Sarah Shepherd Andrews. If you believe the page should not be deleted, you may contest the deletion by clicking on the button that says: Contest this speedy deletion, which appears inside the speedy deletion notice. This will allow you to make your case on the talk page. Administrators will consider your reasoning before deciding what to do with the article. Thank you. Speedy deletion nomination of Anna Atwater

edit

Hello 1biblelectures2017,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Anna Atwater for deletion, because it doesn't appear to contain any encyclopedic content. Take a look at our suggestions for essential content in short articles to learn what should be included.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

Sarah Shepherd Andrews

edit

I have removed the deletion notices from this article and expanded it.

In general, when starting a new article, it is a good idea in your first edit to state exactly why the article is a suitable topic for a worldwide encyclopedia. In this case, a suitable start may have been "Sarah Shepherd Andrews was an American missionary instrumental in bringing Christianity to Japan". Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 13:24, 1 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

Many thanks for the help and feedback User:Ritchie333! I'm trying to prepare for an edit-a-thon and will use this advice on any other entries. Almost all of the women we'll be working to create content for do not have existing entries. Luckily, I've done a ton of research, prepping and gathering of good, reliable sources for the participants to use. 1biblelectures2017 (talk) 18:37, 1 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

A page you started (List of Notable Women of the Restoration Movement) has been reviewed!

edit

Thanks for creating List of Notable Women of the Restoration Movement, 1biblelectures2017!

Wikipedia editor Nick Moyes just reviewed your page, and wrote this note for you:

Hello - please would you provide evideence to demonstrate that the names I've flagged as citation needed are either proven to be linked to the Restoration Movement within the list, or on their main article pages, please. Only people with articles should be in 'List of..'pages, so you'll see I've cleaned out the unlinked names and hope you might be able to address those in the future.
