PSA Sportsmen Contribs
editThanks for the sportsmen you have added to the list of PSA sportsmen! When you add them to the list, you may wish to add [[Category:Former students of (schools article name)]] eg. Each school has one of these categories, with the schools article name (this is. eg. Hale School or Aquinas College, Perth - as the articles name is on wikipedia. Keep up the good work! License tagging for Image:Perth hockey.jpg
editThanks for uploading Image:Perth hockey.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Thundersticks
editThat's the most bizarre thing I've ever seen on Wikipedia - I just had an edit conflict with you while attempting to create the same article. What are the chances? (Yours was much better BTW). —Moondyne 15:12, 26 April 2007 (UTC)
- Are you going to do stubs for the other AHL teams? (Please do) —Moondyne 15:14, 26 April 2007 (UTC)
You blanked the article. Any reason? —Moondyne 04:57, 27 April 2007 (UTC)
- I see. You really should use the "move" button when that happens next time, rather than cut and pasting. That way the edit history moves to the new article, as well as leaving behind a redirect link so that if anyone in the future mistypes the article name with the incorrect spelling, they'll go there automatically. A blanked article might make some people think that vandalism has taken place and we may end up with two similar articles. —Moondyne 08:22, 27 April 2007 (UTC)

Inscriptions
editWhat resource are you using to find all of this information, such at notable psa sportsmen, sporting champions/years etc (btw - thanks for fixing up my mistakes) and inscriptions? I need to get a copy somehow. Many thanks Twenty Years 10:48, 30 April 2007 (UTC)
- On a similar note - im just wanting to know your rationale for moving Cross Country to its current position in the TOC. Originally, they were in alphabetical order. I think they need to be in some sort of order, possibly: alphabetical, seasonal, year entered competition. Something along those lines, what do you think? Twenty Years 10:58, 30 April 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for that. We have that book in our library at school (AC), ill be sure to go and get it out. Ive been using the 102nd annual PSA aths inters handbook/thing for my info. Ill be sure to add that book you cited to the references. P.S>remember to reply on my talk page not my user page. Many thanks Twenty Years 11:03, 30 April 2007 (UTC)
- Alpha is awesome. Quads = definately. We already have swimming and athletics inters? or like school meets - not sure what you mean. I wouldnt go into too much detail (listing every winner) of the trophy between HS and CCGS - but it might be worth mentioning in a section something about school rivalries like this exist. Keep up the great work! i take it you are a PSA boy and from CCGS? Twenty Years 11:26, 30 April 2007 (UTC)
- Yea, i reckon its sounds all good, although it isnt a psa event - it is still important to sport in the psa. CCGS - pretty good - best school in the PSA, except for the AC :). Damn legende' Twenty Years 11:38, 30 April 2007 (UTC)

PSA
editaccording to my 102nd annual psa aths - it has dates going back to 1992. This document seems to only talk about psa titles - because it doesnt recognise trophies before 1905 - even though they existed.
My AC Annuals (2005) say that Golf is a PSA Sport, although i think it is relatively young i believe and has little support - because i knew nothing of it until i read it (im class of 07). Dont know about surfing - but i think it probarbly is. Ive heard that boxing was once a PSA sport? does the book say anything about that?
I have no idea sorry - never had to do it unfortunately. Cheers Twenty Years 11:46, 30 April 2007 (UTC)
CCGS Page
editI see you are interested in fixing up the CCGS page, i just wanted to inform you of this page - which can be view from: Portal:Public Schools Association > Article To Do List (in PSA Project). This page has some thoughts on how you can improve the CCGS page. I should also notify you of the large amount of Public Domain (pre 1955) images in the history section of the CCGS website which could be used in the article. Keep up the good work. Twenty Years 12:56, 3 May 2007 (UTC)
Syme Cup
editHave you heard of this trophy - its for rowing. I know very little of it, and was just wondering if that book of yours has it. Does the book mention other competitions - such as the term 4 cricket comp (it has a trophy and all - but is nothing compared to darlot). Many thanks - btw it would be worth referencing that book for the article. Twenty Years 16:46, 4 May 2007 (UTC)
- It was once added to the PSA page (this was before we had sport in the PSA) and had winners from 2002 onwards - there was no reference for it or anything. It isnt mentioned at all in my 102nd annual psa aths handbook. It might be a small comp between schools. Well, hopefully - i will be going to the PSA aths this year (if the headmaster lets the yr12's go) and i can get a copy of that handbook and hopefully it mentions it. Twenty Years 05:24, 6 May 2007 (UTC)
- I havent ever heard of Peter Rickey :S He might have left before i came to AC in 03. I'll ask a bloke who i think has been at AC for ages - Peter Taylor - he would know. Twenty Years 05:24, 6 May 2007 (UTC)
Please Use Edit Summaries
editWhen editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labeled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:
The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.
Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field, especially for big edits or when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Thank you. Jmlk17 08:03, 6 May 2007 (UTC)
- You may wish to use a tool to ensure that you always place an edit summary. If you click on my preferences (top of page), then editing you can choose an option to: Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary - just tick the box and press save and it will notify you when you dont have an edit summary. Its quite good - i use it myself, as do many other contributors. Btw, keep up the good work. Twenty Years 10:38, 8 May 2007 (UTC)
Azuma Vikings
editI have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Azuma Vikings, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Queensland Blades
editHi buddy, just wondering if you're going to add to/complete your article Queensland Blades? To be honest it's looking a little thin. If you can't/don't want to and if no one steps, it'll most likely be nominated for deletion. Anyways, all the best! Pat Scarian 04:12, 8 June 2007 (UTC)

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Thundersticks r1 c7.jpg
editThanks for uploading Image:Thundersticks r1 c7.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 05:08, 30 November 2007 (UTC)

editThanks for uploading File:Syme Cup.JPG. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, we also need to know the terms of the license that the copyright holder has published the file under, usually done by adding a licensing tag. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged files may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the file will be deleted 48 hours after 10:27, 15 October 2010 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 10:27, 15 October 2010 (UTC)

You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. The article Michael Boyce (field hockey) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Article cites no sources and a search for sources has revealed only database entries and a passing mention in an article about a game he was in, so I doubt that he meets the notability requirements of WP:BIO.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
This bot DID NOT nominate any of your contributions for deletion; please refer to the history of each individual page for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 09:00, 26 August 2022 (UTC)
Nomination of Michael Boyce (field hockey) for deletion

File permission problem with File:USyd Women 2023.jpeg
editThanks for uploading File:USyd Women 2023.jpeg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.
If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{permission pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. Here is a list of your uploads. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. — Ирука13 07:41, 2 October 2023 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image File:Photograph from a Referenced Book.png
editThanks for uploading File:Photograph from a Referenced Book.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 02:36, 5 October 2023 (UTC)

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:USyd Women 1988.png
editThank you for uploading File:USyd Women 1988.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.
If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.
Also:
This bot DID NOT nominate any of your contributions for deletion; please refer to the history of each individual page for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 10:00, 22 February 2024 (UTC)
