Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions, such as the ones you made to List of Kilkenny people. I hope you like the place and decide to stay.

Here are some links to pages you may find useful:

You don't have to log in to read or edit articles on Wikipedia, but if you wish to acquire additional privileges, you can simply create a named account. It's free, requires no personal information, and lets you:

Note that in order for the first three features to be available, you must have had an account for a minimum number of days and made a minimum number of edits.

If you edit without using a named account, your IP address (209.212.22.30) is used to identify you instead.

I hope that you, as a Wikipedian, decide to continue contributing to our project: an encyclopedia of human knowledge that anyone can edit. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, or you can click here to ask for help on your talk page, and a volunteer should respond shortly. We also have an intuitive guide on editing if you're interested. By the way, please make sure to sign and date your talk page comments with four tildes (~~~~).

Dr Richard Majors the well known Black Psychologist former a Clinical Fellow at Harvard Medical School and book author of such bestselling books like Cool Pose is a native of Ithaca NY born and raised. Most people on this list might of attended Cornell univ and therefore lived in Ithaca while attending Cornell but are not from Ithaca. Dr Majors was born in Ithaca and he is Black. Dr Majors is one of the few Black famous figures and role model from the Black Community in Ithaca and you refuse to put him on the notables list of people from Ithaca or create a profile if him on Wikipedia this is so unfair to just promote the Whites why?

@Frank choco: I'm not sure what this is about as I see no recent activity by you or the IP user at Ithaca, New York, but in general if a person does not have a Wikipedia article then they should not be listed in the "Notable people" section of another article.   Hello, I'm Cirt. I noticed that you made a change to an article, New Jersey Library Association, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Cirt (talk) 07:25, 25 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to use disruptive, inappropriate or hard-to-read formatting, as you did at Edgewater, New Jersey, you may be blocked from editing. There is a Wikipedia Manual of Style, and edits should not deliberately go against it without special reason. Accurizer (talk) 17:30, 8 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

Caption punctuation

edit

Thank you for your efforts to improve punctuation in Wikipedia, at Boston and elsewhere. However, please note that per the Manual of Style, a period (full stop) is used in captions after a full sentence, and should not be removed. Hertz1888 (talk) 15:27, 24 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

Please stop removing those. Hertz1888 (talk) 16:13, 24 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

Abbreviations for US states

edit

Please STOP abbreviating the names of US states to their 2-letter code, as this contravenes MOS:POSTABBR which states:-

"Postal codes and abbreviations of place names – e.g. Calif. (California), TX (Texas), Yorks. (Yorkshire) – should not be used to stand in for the full names in normal text."

Although familiar to US readers, Wikipedia is an international encyclopedia, and most of its readers are not from the US, and so are unfamiliar with these codes. Thank you - Arjayay (talk) 16:39, 26 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

Please do not add or significantly change content without citing verifiable and reliable sources, as you did with this edit to Christian philosophy. Before making any potentially controversial edits, it is recommended that you discuss them first on the article's talk page. Date ranges

edit

Please read MOS:DATERANGE before changing date ranges. In short, they use en-dashes (–, {{en dash}}, or ) not hyphens. In some situations, there are spaces around the en-dashes. All edits should use the edit summary as well explaining why the change was made. Walter Görlitz (talk) 19:07, 23 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
