Reply to your Help Desk question
editHello - just to let you know I've responded to your question at the Help Desk. In case you're looking to create an article, I thought I'd bring you these general notes about article creation. Just let us know at the Help Desk if you have further questions.
A Wizard is available to walk you through these steps. See the Article Wizard.
Thank you.
- Before creating an article, please search Wikipedia first to make sure that an article does not already exist on the subject. Please also review a few of our relevant policies and guidelines with which all articles should comply. As Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, articles must not contain original research, must be written from a neutral point of view, should cite reliable sources which verify their content and must not contain unsourced, negative content about living people.
- Articles must also demonstrate the notability of the subject. Please see our subject specific guidelines for people, bands and musicians, companies and organizations and web content and note that if you are closely associated with the subject, our conflict of interest guideline strongly recommends against you creating the article.
- If you still think an article is appropriate, see Wikipedia:Your first article. You might also look at Wikipedia:How to write a great article for guidance, and please consider taking a tour through the Wikipedia:Tutorial so that you know how to properly format the article before creation. An Article Wizard is also available to walk you through creating an article. Gonzonoir (talk) 16:34, 28 January 2011 (UTC)
Sandbox
editI moved your draft article from your userpage into a sandbox at User:2829VC/C.U.R.E.. I think this will maybe help alleviate your worries, and is a better place to work on developing an article anyway. LadyofShalott 05:43, 31 January 2011 (UTC)
Permission question
edit{{helpme}} I've just uploaded curelogo.jpg, the author has sent to permissions-commons@ wikimedia.org this:
- copy of email removed Chzz ► 21:38, 20 February 2011 (UTC)
Not sure but I need to indicate this somewhere???2829 VC 21:02, 20 February 2011 (UTC)
- Please wait; I'll try to help sort this out, and will write more soon. Chzz ► 21:38, 20 February 2011 (UTC)
- I have marked the page to say that "An email containing details of the permission for this file has been sent", and I have alerted to the OTRS team. It may take several days to process, but in the meantime, the file should be fine (and you may use it).
- The OTRS team should contact you, either here or via email, to let you know if the permission is OK, or if anything else is needed.
- If you need further help (or don't hear back for a week or so), please use another {{helpme}}. Cheers, Chzz ► 22:00, 20 February 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks very much, so the normal procedure is that the author or sender of the email should hear back _before_ they upload the file? Thanks for your help 2829 VC 22:42, 20 February 2011 (UTC)

How I reference an out of print book?
editCan I reference a book? Particularly if it is 'effectively' out of print? How can anyone verify if what I am saying is true? This book in particular http://isbndb.com/d/book/heroin_addiction_care_and_control.html 2829 VC 11:44, 21 February 2011 (UTC)
- If you have a book that is out of print, there is no reason that you cannot reference it. As long as you follow all the normal referencing procedures. Wikipedia does demonstrate a bias towards online, easy to access sources - but there is no problem with using books. As for verifying what you are saying, that's where assuming good faith comes in. If they have a problem, the onus is on them to find the book. WormTT 12:14, 21 February 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks, useful 2829 VC 13:14, 21 February 2011 (UTC)
- Glad I could help. If you ever have any more questions, feel free to pop over to my talk page. By the way, I'm one of those "adopters" mentioned in your welcome by Ser Amantio di Nicolao, so if you are interested in adoption, feel free to give me a shout there too WormTT 13:25, 21 February 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks, I think I'm ok so far, I've done a bit more than it seems over the years as I've recently decided I needed to change from my real name (nothing sinister :-)). I'm still relatively inexperienced of course. I may ask for adoption if I get into really deep water, thanks.2829 VC 05:57, 22 February 2011 (UTC)

- Sometimes Google Books will help. If they have all or part of a book digitized, you can link to their copy. That doesn't apply to this particular case however. I just mention it in case you have others that might be available there. LadyofShalott 06:13, 22 February 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks useful info, thanks. I didn't realise this but printing of books has advanced to such a state that they're now printing them ad hoc! I've ordered two of this book direct from Drugscope and I'm going to donate one to the British Library, where it's apprently gone missing or never been delivered to their reference section. Can't help feeling there's a conpiracy somewhere ;-)2829 VC 06:34, 22 February 2011 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of John Petro
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on John Petro requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Gavin.perch (talk) 20:26, 25 February 2011 (UTC)
- I've declined the speedy deletion request. LadyofShalott 20:44, 25 February 2011 (UTC)
- Thank you very much, my guardian angel :-), I'll put some more information on the talk page 2829 VC 22:49, 25 February 2011 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Drug Policy Revue Group
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Drug Policy Revue Group, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. - I have undeleted Drug Policy Revue Group and corrected its spelling to Drug Policy Review Group and AfD'ed it: see wiktionary:revue and wiktionary:review. See Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Drug Policy Review Group. Anthony Appleyard (talk) 22:56, 26 February 2011 (UTC)
- Thank you I will work on it 2829 VC 06:31, 27 February 2011 (UTC)

- We are awaiting a reply from you as to whether you would accept a merge between User:2829VC/Peter Chapple and User:Johnchapple/C.U.R.E.. Thanks! ☺ · Salvidrim! · ✉ 15:18, 3 September 2014 (UTC)
Thank you, yes I would accept a merger, however I would prefer that the second article User:Johnchapple/C.U.R.E. be renamed to User:2829VC/C.U.R.E. (I am not sure how to do that) If the first part is appended to the second without modification, I will edit it (and correct spelling) (I do not wish to loose any of the links which were difficult to obtain). Thank you 2829 VC 21:09, 3 October 2014 (UTC)

Your signature
editPlease be aware that your signature uses deprecated <font>
tags, which are causing Obsolete HTML tags lint errors. As explained at WP:SIGFONT:
<font>...</font>
tags were deprecated in HTML4 and are entirely obsolete in HTML5. This means that the popular browsers may drop support for them at some point. Wikipedia is already preparing for this by delinting code project-wide through Linter. When support finally is dropped, the tags will be ignored in all signatures; any properties such as color and font family will revert to their default values. For this reason, it is recommended that you use<span>...</span>
tags and CSS properties instead.
I have prepared a replacement signature string for you. You are encouraged to change
