Could you clarify what you mean by "radio station adds" in your contribution to Backstreet Boys, which is below?
The Backstreet Boys holds the record for 'most radio station adds' in its first week with both of their singles "I Want It That Way" and "Shape Of My Heart". In 1999 "I Want It That Way" held this record when it recived 165 adds in it's first week of release but in 2000 it was beaten by "Shape Of My Heart" with 170 adds. The single "Shape Of My Heart" debuted at #9 on the Billboard Charts.
Thanks, Andrew_pmk | Talk 20:11, 28 November 2005 (UTC)
when a song is released in the radio in it's first week. It counts how many people has voted for the song by calling their local radio stations thats how they counts how many radio stations has played the song in it's first week. the most adds gets the highest debut
- Please stop refer to the band as "the boys". This is very POV, and I continually haev to clean up your edits to remove bias. Thanks. Harro5 22:14, 7 December 2005 (UTC)
- Please control your urges to gush about the Backstreet Boys in their article. I routinely have to come in and remove your POV from the article, and then have to repeat the process the next day. Please study WP:NPOV, know the words off by heart, and try not to turn an encyclopedic article into the band's biggest fansite. Thanks. Harro5 21:08, 15 December 2005 (UTC)
Please stop adding nonsense to Wikipedia. It is considered vandalism. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. Thank you. KC. 17:57, 22 December 2005 (UTC)
Image Tagging Image:Backstreetboyshits lp04.jpg
editThanks for uploading Image:Backstreetboyshits lp04.jpg. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you can claim fair use use {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or {{fairuse}}. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of image pages you have edited by going to "Your contributions" from your user page and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thanks so much. --Sherool (talk) 16:07, 3 December 2005 (UTC)
- Same apply to Image:Backstreetboysmillennium lp.jpg, Image:Backstreetboysblack&blue lp03.jpg and Image:Backstreetboysbsb lp01.jpg. In this particular case it would probably be sufficient to say what album it's a cover of and add the {{albumcover}} tag, however specifying exactly where you found the image and who is likely to own the copyright would be even better. --Sherool (talk) 16:35, 3 December 2005 (UTC)
I'v images in my web, the images are mine. I just made them smaller. I add a border line around each image.
- I think you misunderstood, those images are copyrighted, so they are not your images (as in you don't own the right to distribute them), they can probably be used under a fair use claim, but you need to specify where you got them. I asume they did not magicaly appear on your webpages so you must have gotten them from somewhere. If you scanned them yourself then say so, if you found them elsewhere then say that, but you need to provide a source. That and an apropriate copyright tag, again I asume {{albumcover}} is the most aproriate. Thanks. --Sherool (talk) 17:45, 3 December 2005 (UTC)
Sorry i didn't understand. I scanned them myself. Please Don't be mad at me
- I'm not mad, sorry if I came across as a bit grumpy. It's just that images without the proper information is a bit of a problem around here (and there are a lot of them). Based on the info you have given me I have "fixed" the images you uploaded myself. Just please do your best to provide as much information on the images you upload as possible in the future :) Other than that, happy editing and don't let grumpy old editors like me scare you off, it's just that when it comes to copyright law it's in everyones best interest to be "in the clear" ;)
- P.S. It's a good idea to add ~~~~ (click the "signature" button on the edit toolbar (second from the right), it is automaticaly transformed into a dated signature) after your posts on talk pages (don't sign articles), that way it's easier for people to know who wrote what when. --Sherool (talk) 19:53, 3 December 2005 (UTC)

Uploading images
editPlease do not copy images from the internet and upload them to wikipedia with a {{GFDL}} (free use) tags. Even GFDL images must have a source see Image:JohnFitchParkway.jpg which clearly says Photo of the John Fitch Parkway (NJ 29) at Calhoun Street in downtown Trenton, New Jersey. Photo by Alex Nitzman. -- what's the picture about, where taken, and by WHOM (or an internet link to the page where GFDL can be confirmed). Hope this helps you. feydey 16:14, 27 December 2005 (UTC)
I'm sorry i won't do this again. So how will i should upload images??
- Read the box in Special:Upload carefully -- Most images on the internet are copyrighted and are not appropriate for uploading to Wikipedia. Read Wikipedia:Uploading_images and Wikipedia:Image copyright tags. Ask if unsure. And dont put misleading tags like {{PD-Soviet}} to clearly professional modern copyrighted images (Image:AMA2005BSB.jpg). P.S. Most of your BSB images are not photographed by you, so they will be deleted. Agreed? feydey 16:26, 27 December 2005 (UTC)
But these are all from magazines and books. Is there no way to keep those images??
- Do you know what copyright is, if not, do not upload images. Of course books and magazines are under copyright. Please halt your uploading of images and see what else you could do to help wikipedia Wikipedia:Community_Portal. feydey 16:41, 27 December 2005 (UTC)
No, I know what CR means but are all of my images will be deleted?? please tell me??
- Yes, probably, if they stay someday Sony or whoever is BSB record company can shut WP down for copyright infringement. feydey 16:53, 27 December 2005 (UTC)

50cent4, I have reverted your edits that you did on this article. You must provide sources if you are going to change something especially in a list. I have the official source from Blender magazine's website here and it states that your changes are incorrect. Regards -- Ianblair23 (talk) 23:14, 3 January 2006 (UTC)
Im really sorry, the list i had maybe wrong perhaps. Thank you--50cent4 10:51, 4 January 2006 (UTC)
Before I created tables, you originally stated that the BSB self-titled disc sold 28 million worldwide. Unless, you have reliable source(s) claiming that it sold in excess of 30 million, please don't move their entry. Edits without credible reference can be removed by any editor. Thanks. --Madchester 15:34, 20 January 2006 (UTC)
The BSB self-titled disc's sales reached 28 million in 1999. but in 2001 the album sales reached 32 million as told by RIAA. cause the album was 14x platinum in the U.S. that year. So the total sales for the album is around 32 million. Thank you --50cent4 18:18, 20 January 2006 (UTC)
Unless you have links to actual resources and references, please don't make any changes to the chart, per Reliable sources. Thanks. --Madchester 19:09, 20 January 2006 (UTC)
Oh come on, I made the hole page by myself remember. The list I made was official by RIAA. I made a mistake by adding that BSB debut album sold 28 million but it sold 32 million in 2001. This can't Be unsourced. Please don't remove my edits. --50cent4 19:17, 20 January 2006 (UTC)
- You may have started the page, but you never provided any external links/references to support the numbers presented. Wikipedia requires sources to its information, epsecially for an article such as this one, which presents historical sales figures.
- Wikipedia only works when you cite reliable souces. You keep saying that the RIAA claims that BSB sold 32 million copies, but I can also say that the RIAA sold 50 million copies of Bad Hair Day. You can't simply state figures out of the blue; you need to provide the necessary references to support your claims. --Madchester 19:29, 20 January 2006 (UTC)
RIAA is not the only one who claimed BSB's debut sold 32 million, even MTV, VH1 and their official web also claims that they have the highest selling debut album. The source was once www.riaa.com but there can be other sources. Beleive me i didn't made that up.--50cent4 19:43, 20 January 2006 (UTC)
- Well please provide appropriate references, per Wikipedia:Reliable sources. Otherwise, your edits will count against the three revert rule. You are in danger of violating the three-revert rule on an article. Please cease further reverts or you may be blocked from further editing. Thanks. --Madchester 20:10, 20 January 2006 (UTC)
Fortunately one day ago i've received this file directly from Amanda Collins, from R.I.A.A. Gold and Platinum office.

According to the Recording Industry Association of America (R.I.A.A.) and the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (I.F.P.I), Michael Jackson's Thriller - with worldwide sales exceeding 54 million copies - is the biggest selling album ever and the best-selling debut is BBS's self-ttled debut album-- sold just over 31 million worldwide. The debut album was released as "Backstreet Boys" in the U.S. and "Backstreet's Back" to the rest of the world. I will add the source as soon as possible--50cent4 15:35, 21 January 2006 (UTC)
Policies/Guidelines
editCould I plese draw your attention to the following two policies/guidelines of Wikipedia, in reference tot he best selling album page. I do think that this page could be done in 'your' format, but you need to work within Wikipedia's frameworks:
- Wikipedia:Vandalism#Types of Vandalism - note that removal of talk page content is considered vandalism; if you were to do this again/regularly, you would get into trouble.
- Wikipedia:Ownership of articles
Thanks, I hope that we - as a community - can continue to help improve this article Robdurbar 11:31, 28 January 2006 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image (Image:Backstreetboyshits lp04.jpg)
editThanks for uploading Image:Backstreetboyshits lp04.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Fair use rationale for Image:BSBIWITWvideo.jpg
editThanks for uploading or contributing to Image:BSBIWITWvideo.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. proposed deletion
editThe OutLaws (Bangladesh)
editA proposed deletion template has been added to the article The OutLaws (Bangladesh), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}}
to the top of The OutLaws (Bangladesh). JASpencer (talk) 18:36, 15 February 2008 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Pantene You Got The Look
editA tag has been placed on Pantene You Got The Look, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as the Wikipedia:Business' FAQ for more information.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. TN‑X-Man 20:46, 17 September 2008 (UTC)
