I have actually rewritten the article, a bit, and moved it to a more appropriate title. You can look over at it more, and I won't interfere much from now on unless requested. Evilclown93 20:11, 30 April 2007 (UTC)
Deleting Category:Wikipedians who don't own automobiles
editThe category, Wikipedians who don't own automobiles, in which you are listed, is being considered for deletion. You may share your thoughts on the matter at this category's entry on the User categories for discussion page. --DieWeibeRose 20:42, 31 May 2007 (UTC)
Categories on dog templates
editIf you add a category to a template, you don't actually need to add that category to pages which includes that template. For example Template:Toy dogs and Chinese Crested Dog. Jerazol 05:23, 6 June 2007 (UTC)
- To the best of my knowledge, there is no template for Category:Toy dogs, especially as I created the category. There were a couple of other groupings for which I started adding categories manually and then hit on adding them to a template -- Terriers and Hounds jump to mind. Well, it does no harm in any case ... :) --7Kim 05:33, 6 June 2007 (UTC)
- No, it doesn't do any harm, just save you from some extra work. What I was refering to was for ex. these edits: [1] and [2]. The edit to Chinese Crested Dog is redundant, as it would get the category Category:Toy dogs from the template. But, as you say, it doesn't do any harm, just extra work for you :-) Jerazol 06:51, 6 June 2007 (UTC)
Duplicate CfD
editHi 7Kim
I have closed the CfD discussion which you opened at Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2007 June 6#Category:Primates_of_the_Jerusalem_Greek_Orthodox_Patriarchate_and_Epitropia_of_the_Holy_Sepulcher_in_America_.282.29, because there was already another open CfD on the same category. Having more than one CfD open on a category at the same time splits the discussion and creates the possibility of two different decisions being made about the same category.
I see that you have made some thoughtful contributions to the original CfD, and that would be place to recommend deletion if you think that is the appropriate course of action. --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 07:53, 7 June 2007 (UTC)
- My bad; I was under the impression that a call to merge and a call to delete were separate entities -- a decision to merge would obviate a decision to delete, and a decision to not merge, followed by a separate decision to delete, would be permissible as well. Especially as the nominator of the call to merge has struck out the proposal to merge, so I'm not entirely sure what that discussion is for at this point. I doesn't seem to me that a proposal to merge can (or should) so simply and straightforwardly mutate into a proposal to delete. --7Kim 18:17, 7 June 2007 (UTC)
Category:Sexual and gender prejudices
editHi there, I just realized that I hadn't checked to see if the creator of Category:Sexual and gender prejudices had been alerted to the fact that it has been nominated for deletion and is currently being discussed at the CFD page. I think my arguments in favor of keeping it may have turned the tide, but if you want to weigh in on the discussion, don't delay -- it's going into it's fourth day. (You can use the link at the category page.) Cgingold 13:14, 20 September 2007 (UTC)
- Thank you very much for alerting me, but I've been without computer or Net connection for some months. I'm pleased to see that the category was kept. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.234.21.88 (talk) 17:09, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
UCFD and LGBT cats
editYour comments on the gayass Wikipedians UFCD and current Queer Wikipedians DRV are abolutely spot on, particularly this one because it highlights the real reason these categories were deleted, as opposed to the knee-jerk assumption of homophobia others are making. There was a big push last summer to get rid of user categories that (allegedly, at least) didn't foster collaboration, and a strong deletion culture existed at UCFD at the time. Lots of categories were deleted. However, due in part to the sheer number of user categories that exist, lots were left, and now we're in this situation six months later where people feel the sexuality cats were singled out unfairly. It is encouraging to see someone really getting to the core of all this while others are busy importing real life issues of discrimination and such into Wikipedia. – Steel 16:06, 24 January 2008 (UTC)

The events are as follows:
We hope that you will be able to join us, whether you are an experienced editor or are using Wikipedia for the first time.
