Live scores

edit

Please do not update match stats (whether a player’s or a club’s or a league table etc.) until the player’s involvement in the match has finished / the match itself has finished. That means (especially, for example, another goal is scored) that errors can be minimised. Many thanks. GiantSnowman 15:38, 10 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I'm Materialscientist. I wanted to let you know that I reverted one of your recent contributions—specifically this edit to Bruce George Peter Lee—because it did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Teahouse or the Help desk. Thanks. Materialscientist (talk) 09:47, 12 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

ive been blocked for doing a correct edit 86.5.102.9 (talk) 09:56, 12 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

Duplicate request placed in a section header; edits should only be placed in the larger edit window, not the smaller section header/edit summary window. 331dot (talk) 10:07, 12 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

Please offer sources that show this- all information in articles about living people must be sourced, see WP:BLP. Also note that we don't necessarily use official or legal names, see WP:COMMONNAME. This doesn't mean legal names cannot be mentioned, but it must be done correctly. 331dot (talk) 10:09, 12 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

Accept reason:

Your original article edit was not vandalism, so it doesn't make sense to keep you blocked. Please see the warning below about incivility. Firefangledfeathers (talk / contribs) 21:59, 12 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

Well do your job and unblock me you doofus — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.5.102.9 (talk) 16:56, 12 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

I'm sorry you've been through a bit of a procedural nightmare. Your incivility above is understandable, but still not acceptable. Editors and admins, even when they're wrong, should not be insulted. Firefangledfeathers (talk / contribs) 21:59, 12 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

Block extended due to personal attacks. 331dot (talk) 17:52, 12 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

331dot, I really think we should unblock this user. I'm convinced that Materialscientist's original vandalism block was a mistake, and the personal attacks since then have been pretty mild. About as mild as I think is reasonable after being blocked for a good-faith edit. Firefangledfeathers (talk / contribs) 19:05, 12 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
I'm not sure their attitude bodes well for the future- and I understand being annoyed at this situation but civility is still important- but I no longer think that should stand in the way of removing this. 331dot (talk) 20:12, 12 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
